Sanctuary: Shattered Sun changes
There have been lots of exciting developments in the past few months, and we are very excited to share our progress with you.
Let’s start with the big news in case you haven't heard it already: We've reached a big milestone earlier this year with a pre-alpha demo of the game! It is currently available for closed testing through our Patreon channel. The feedback we've received so far has been fantastic and we are so happy you seem to be enjoying the game! Since then we have been working hard on it and updated it with new maps, units, UI upgrades and more.
There is still a lot of work to do, and we are maintaining our "when its done" attitude for the game, so no hard release dates just yet!
In the meantime, here is some more stuff we have in the pipeline at the moment - we are doing a lot of work behind the scenes, so here are some screenshots from the game for you to look at:
We start with one of our recent visual updates for the tier 4 resource generator for the Guard faction. We always try to put a lot of effort into making these high tier structures feel appropriately impressive, which can be a challenge.
We've also been looking at our aircraft - adding vapour trails and engine exhausts. It's these details that help bring the units to life and add a bit of extra polish to the game.
We have also been adding units into the game - here are some of them that are being worked on - try guessing what they do!
There is too much to include in this post, so head on over to our discord server for all the latest news and info.
Looking ahead, our team is putting in a lot of resources towards optimisation and core systems. While this means fewer visible changes in the near future, this is very important groundwork that will make sure that the game runs smoothly, reliably, and can support all of our planned features. We have already made some great progress on many systems, but there is still a lot of work left to do - after all for an RTS like this it’s essential to get all the technology right, not just the shiny explosions.
Thanks for your continued support and patience as we work toward making this game the best it can be. We'll have more updates to share as development progresses.
The very best regards, The dev team at Enhearten Media
