The Release Date & Steam Next Fest

Let’s rip the bandage off first. To ensure Saint of Chains meets the high standards we’ve set for ourselves and the standards you deserve, we have made the decision to shift our release date to May 12, 2026.

As a two-man studio, we pour everything we have into this game. This extra time allows us to polish the experience, squash bugs, and make sure the horror hits exactly right.

But you won't have to wait long to play.

Devlog: Welcome to The Chronicle Building

Since our last update with the Sewers, we’ve been building something massive. We are entering the Chronicle Building AKA The Offices, a sprawling two-story structure filled with cryptic puzzles closely tied to Ethan’s past.

You may have also noticed that Saint of Chains got a

NEW TRAILER

And this level pushes the boundaries of our world design. You'll navigate a tiny slice of the outdoors before entering the facility, where the line between reality and the nightmare blurs. You will shift between a surreal, weird world and a hellish, decaying rusty world when you least expect it.

Here is what awaits you in the dark!

The New Threats

We’ve added four new entities to the roster. And some of these guys don’t just chase you… They distort the space around you!

  • The Sycophant: A slasher with a microphone for a head. It wants to broadcast your screams.

  • The Uplink: A human bag of flesh hanging from the ceiling, fused with a split monitor. It watches.

  • The Deadline: Watch the ceiling. Giant lips wait for you to pass beneath, dragging you up with a fleshy phone cord.

  • The Redactor: A slow-moving, invisible predator that looks like a spatial distortion. It follows you silently. When it roars, it becomes visible and starts running.

New Arsenal & Mechanics

To help you survive these new horrors, we’ve added the Pump Shotgun. It’s heavy, loud, and effective against the encroaching flesh. But, as you know, in this psychological horror, every bullet is important, and you gotta think twice before firing it.

The Keybinding (Key Customization) system was finished, meaning you will be able to map your key bindings any way you like.

You’ll encounter a completely different type of puzzles this time, closely tied to Ethan’s past. Sometimes you’ll encounter multiple objectives, some of them being longer than usual. We’re slowly breaking the linearity of the previous levels.

We have also implemented an in-game Map system (found in the previous section) to help you navigate the twisted worlds you encounter.

Current Status

We have also polished the Save/Load system and overhauled several UI elements in the main and pause menus to improve the experience.

Right now, we have entered the full Test Phase. Playtesters are currently running through the entire game from the beginning through the end of the Chronicle Building (offices).

The feedback so far has been incredible, and
