The Rust intensifies...
Hey everyone,
First of all, thank you.
Seeing so many of you step into Saint of Chains during Steam Next Fest has been incredible. Your support, feedback, and reactions mean more to us than we can properly put into words.
We’ve been blown away by how smooth the demo has been for you! No major bugs, no technical fires to put out, and performance has been rock solid.
So this update is a refinement pass: small adjustments and quality-of-life tuning to make the descent feel tighter, clearer, and even more oppressive.
What’s new in this demo update:
Reduced inventory size to reinforce survival horror tension and resource management
Improved/reduced lighting guidance to subtly lead players while preserving immersion
Minor environmental polish across multiple areas
Completely new, more immersive fonts in the game
Added C for crouch too (although this is for the demo, the full game has mappable key bindings)
Reduced the weapon light (helper)
Improved visual clarity in darker spaces
Audio balance refinements for a more consistent atmosphere
Improved interaction responsiveness
Minor collision and navigation fixes
Performance optimizations and stability improvements
Various small polish improvements throughout the demo
These changes are subtle, but help make the experience tighter, clearer, and more aligned with the survival horror pacing.
We'll keep monitoring feedback closely throughout the festival.
If you haven’t yet stepped inside, the demo is available now.
And if you believe in what we’re creating, please consider wishlisting the game. It makes a massive difference and helps Saint of Chains reach more players.
Thank you for walking this path with us.
