It took six months, but I finally managed to get the Dungeon Update ready just in time for Christmas! This update continues the story, brings lots of new items to discover, and Sao has some new festive Christmas outfits for you.
The update has been tested over the past three weeks, allowing me to fixa bunch of bugs. As always, new features go deep under the hood, so if you run into any issues, please reach out to me on Discord. I can usually release a fix quickly.
You’ll need to start a new map for this update because some changes have been made to generated locations.
Have fun exploring and happy holidays!
WARNING: Spoilers ahead!
Old Mines
The first dungeon, the Old Mines, is finally finished! To enter the mines, you’ll need to progress in the main story and craft Winnibald's Great Kindle-Balls.
Getting through the mines will take more than just bombs, though. Some areas will only collapse further if things go boom.
Underground Lake
The Rift is slowly merging with the worlds. Deep underground, the effects are much stronger than at the surface.
Different mushrooms and even Rift creatures now roam the underground.
Lunari Palace
Long ago, when magic wasn't just a myth, some could use ether to power machines. The Lunari Palace still holds their ancient research.
You can even set up your own little dungeon base there. But your home totem won't work here.
Be careful! Under the portal ruins, ether currents run wild, and not everything is as it seems.
Etherite Tablet
The Aetherite Tablet lets you activate different mechanisms. Use your action button at the quick menu to activate it. Place the keystones in the right spots to activate machines.
You can put keystones into the tablet.
Approach mechanisms marked with ether symbols to interact using the Etherite Tablet.
Look for statues that provide you with keystones.
Christmas Costumes
It’s that time of year and there are new festive items! Visit Sao, and if you've saved up enough gold, you can buy new clothing and hats. Don't worry, both work with any character you choose.
German Translation
German, yay! Many of you have been waiting, and now it’s finally here. With the German localization, several English texts have also been improved for better clarity, new helpful item descriptions, revised lore, and updated character dialogue.
