addedStory IntroThe new story intro finally introduces you to the game's story. Until now, a lot of the lore in the intro only existed in vague dialogue or in my notes. To wrap it all up nicely, the intro takes place in a separate map built specifically for it: your character’s home world!
addedCharakter PortraitsMost characters now have their own portrait during dialogues.
addedQuest MarkersYou can now tell when a character wants to talk to you by a speech bubble with an exclamation mark. These help you progress through the main story.
addedNew Trading MenuYou can now put down multiple items and see how much you’ll get before selling. Also, coin effects appear so you can immediately see where your gold is going.

Replacing the old intro was important to me, especially since this will likely be the last update before the full release.

Have fun exploring!

WARNING: Spoilers ahead!

Story Intro

The new story intro finally introduces you to the game's story. Until now, a lot of the lore in the intro only existed in vague dialogue or in my notes. To wrap it all up nicely, the intro takes place in a separate map built specifically for it: your character’s home world!

Charakter Portraits

Most characters now have their own portrait during dialogues.

Quest Markers

You can now tell when a character wants to talk to you by a speech bubble with an exclamation mark. These help you progress through the main story.

New Trading Menu

You can now put down multiple items and see how much you’ll get before selling. Also, coin effects appear so you can immediately see where your gold is going.

Landscape Shaders

Runika has a completely new look! I created some new pixel-perfect shaders to beautify the landscape.

Grass areas are no longer a single flat color, dirt and ground decorations now have weathering details, and water in particular stands out thanks to new wave and reflection animations. Clouds also now drift smoothly across the landscape and slowly change shape.

New Objects

  • You can now display your armor on armor stands.

  • There are now moss vests made from all leaves.

New Features

  • There is now an attack input buffer. This lets you attack seamlessly (frame-perfect) with weapons.

Graphics

  • A few tilesets have been reworked.

Adjustments

  • Tari now already shows that she wants to talk to you while moving.

  • Camera shake has been improved and expanded to actions that previously had none.

  • The map is now shown underneath dialogues.

  • In the Lunari Palace, horizontal passages are now highlighted a bit with a small light source.

  • Since the ghostflame lantern is a bit darker, its light radius has been increased.

  • Some dialogues had to be adjusted to match the new lore.

Bugfixes

  • The collapsed rocks at the entrance to the mine could be destroyed with normal tools.

  • Some missing translations have been added.

Known Bugs

  • Sometimes cliffs are not displayed correctly.

Coming Soon

  • Full Release!
