Rising Spire changes
The best part of RPGs? The sense of progress. Whether it’s unlocking new abilities, taking on a high-level hunt, or simply traveling across the world, progression keeps things exciting. This update focuses on making Rising Spire feel smoother, more rewarding, and more immersive than ever.
The Hunting Guild – New Systems & Shop
What started out as a small feature for one side quest has turned into a fully fledged system that allows players to take on combat-based challenges for rewards and spend their Guild Points (GP) in a dedicated shop.
Hunting Board – Take On Deadly Challenges
We've refined the Hunting Board to make taking on combat-based bounties more rewarding. Now Functional:
Hunt quests now track progress properly
Completing a hunt grants rewards & deducts required items
Hunts are marked complete if they’re non-repeatable
Still in Progress:
UI needs a visual overhaul for clarity
Finalizing a full list of initial hunts (per area)
Secret hunts (unlocked by completing certain quests) are still in testing
We’re discussing quick-view indicators to make it clear when a hunt is ready to turn in
Possible System Change: We’re considering removing “collect” hunts and instead making the guild shop a place to sell materials. This keeps the Hunting Board purely combat-focused.
Hunting Guild Shop – Spend Your GP
The Hunting Guild Shop is now in its early stages, giving players a dedicated space to spend Guild Points (GP) on unique items. Initial Setup Complete:
UI is functional but needs polish
Shop now properly displays two separate inventories
GP system works independently of normal currency
Still in Progress:
Finalizing item pricing & inventory balance
Making the shop interface less of an eyesore + Replacing the placeholder shop name/shop keeper
Fast Travel – No More Backtracking
We’ve implemented fast travel points across the map to make moving between key locations more seamless. Confirmed Working:
Fast travel now functions in Dohan, Grasslands, Zendalia, and Naurvik
Placement has been finalized for major landmarks
Still in Progress:
Adjusting spawn locations to ensure smooth player placement
Removing current location from fast travel options (because why would you teleport to where you already are?)
UI & Dialogue Improvements
We’ve also made small but impactful UI upgrades to improve readability and clarity. Dialogue System Upgrades:
Dialogue box & choice UI size improvements
Character portraits are scaled properly
Font Overhaul:
All in-game text has been updated to a new font for better readability
Built a custom font replacement tool to make future adjustments easier
Still in Progress:
Some elements still need resizing
We’ll be fine-tuning nameplate visibility to avoid clutter
Next Devlog: Combat, Economy & Final Act 2 Refinements
This update was focused on fast travel, UI upgrades, and the Hunting Guild, but next time, we’ll be covering major combat improvements, economy balancing, and final Act 2 story elements. What to expect in the next devlog::

Combat UI Refinements - Displaying Elixir & Food buffs directly in battle
Boss Battle Mechanics - Progress on new enemy encounters & combat systems
Act 2 Story Finalization - The last critical cutscenes and dialogue updates
New Hunts & Shop Rebalancing - Expanding late-game challenges and inventory options
