Rise of the Settlement changes
Greetings, settlers! 🏛️🛠️
It’s time to settle in for another development update from Rise of the Settlement! This time, I’ve entered a consolidation phase — a crucial moment where bugs are squashed, balance is reviewed, and systems are refined. Here’s what’s been going on:
🧹 Polish and Refinement
Many of the recent updates focused on bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and performance tweaks. It’s the kind of work that doesn’t always shine on the surface, but makes the game feel smoother, smarter, and more enjoyable.
🏛️ Introducing the Market
One major addition is the Market — a central structure that changes how your villagers consume goods. Instead of pulling food and resources directly from your total stockpile, villagers now rely on assigned goods in the market.
This change brings clarity and predictability to your settlement’s daily consumption — giving you more control over how resources are distributed and when shortages might occur.
This marks the initial concept phase of the Market-type building; further adjustments and refinements are planned. As you can see the first type of Market is called Provision Hall.
🎥 Live Dev Streams & Playtesting
If you're curious how all this works in real time, I often do live development streams where I playtest the game, note down improvements that are needed and bugs that I see, and share design thoughts directly with the community.
These streams are announced on Discord, and you can catch them live here:

Recent playtest sessions helped uncover and resolve around 100 issues — ranging from minor UI adjustments to deeper, more complex production-related bugs.
Stay tuned — there’s much more to uncover in Rise of the Settlement.

See you in the next update, — Luki
