I’ve enjoyed sweaty multiplayer games like anyone else, but there’s something special about jumping into a single-player game with systems and AI that feel smart (or at least give the illusion of it).

I’ve always liked games where it feels like you’re fighting alongside allies, sometimes I’d even wait for an AI teammate to catch up before starting the next fight just so it felt like we were moving in together. Watching Gladiator way too many times as a kid probably wired that into my brain.

Riftborn is built around that feeling: you control the hero and you get buddies on your side.
