🍓 Strawberry Moon Showdown: Creator vs Collector
🆕 Update 0.10
The Strawberry Moon rises, and the Creator vs Collector rivalry continues.
🏆 Pre-Stream Tally Creator 8 – Collector 4
Join the next Riftborn livestream for a full-moon Showdown where every pickup, summon, Titan, Champion, Fate Drop, and Cataclysm can swing the battle in seconds.
Riftborn is an Arena Chaos Summoner where you race through an unpredictable battlefield, build momentum, and survive long enough to turn the match in your favor.
🔥 June 29th Update Highlights
Riftborn has grown significantly since the last Showdown. The Gilgamesh Expansion is nearly complete, introducing new Titans, Champions, Fate Drops, visual improvements, performance updates, and some of the largest momentum swings yet.
🏙️ Anu: The First Cataclysm System
Anu introduces an entirely new category of battlefield event.
When activated, the arena is drowned beneath a sea of falling buildings that reshape the landscape, destroy existing structures, and create even more chaos across the battlefield.
Building-drop timing adjusted • Tile count optimized for better performance
Rain and environmental effects optimized • Cataclysm performance significantly improved
🐂 The Bull of Heaven Has Arrived
The Bull of Heaven enters Riftborn as a devastating new Titan from the Epic of Gilgamesh.
Powerful Titan-level battlefield presence • Announcer VO implemented • Audio range increased so you can hear it approaching
⚔️ Gilgamesh Fate Drops
Six Gilgamesh-inspired Fate Drops are now entering the game. These rare events can completely transform a match.
🐄 Ninsun Summons her wild cows onto the battlefield. Level 1, 2, and 3 cows are now implemented, with improved movement, turning, and mass at higher levels.
🌊 Utnapishtim Grants “immortality” by giving the collecting character +1,000 health.
💘 Ishtar Gives 50% of the opposing forces currently on the battlefield a chance to switch teams.
☀️ Shamash Summons a gigantic wind that travels across the arena, damaging enemies and buildings in its path.
👑 Siduri
Grants two champions: Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
🌿 Shamhat Blesses the allied army by increasing the health and physical size of its forces.
Additional Fate Drop improvements include:
Fate Drop height and movement adjusted • Average wait time increased slightly • Near-finish ambient audio added • Fate Drop probability and pacing tuned • Placeholder and final VO implementation underway
🗣️ New Gilgamesh Champions
The Gilgamesh roster continues to expand.
🌊 Urshanabi A powerful Champion who summons a gigantic water explosion upon defeat.
👑 Ereshkigal The Queen of the Great Below enters battle by summoning enormous Black Mummies.
👻 Spirit Enkidu An extremely fast and durable spirit who deals only one damage but relentlessly haunts the battlefield.
Gilgamesh lore artwork completed • Ereshkigal’s attack range and summoning setup implemented • Additional Champion functionality connected • Champion VO volume reduced for better battlefield balance • Missing run, attack, hit, and death audio restored • Champion Token audio updated
🛢️ The Gigantic Loot Barrel
A massive new Loot Barrel can now appear near the edge of the battlefield.
When destroyed, it releases approximately 3–20 copies of the same randomized object, creating enormous bursts of resources and giving either side an opportunity to completely swing the match.
✨ Pickups Are Clearer and Fairer
Every pickup should now be easier to see, understand, and contest.
Collectible spheres added around all pickups • Pickup height offsets adjusted • Initial spawning briefly delayed • Fixed early pickups spawning in zones that favored the Collector • Pickups now spread more evenly across the battlefield • Team outlines and tagging systems updated • Fate Drop ambient audio improved
🌎 Major Arena Visual Upgrade
The battlefield has received one of its largest visual passes yet.
Arena backdrop added • Bloom and post-processing added to all cameras • Terrain layers drastically redesigned • Terrain detail colors made more natural • Grass and terrain details reduced in height • Visual noise reduced throughout the arena • Snow and rain effects refined • Environmental emission reduced for performance
💥 Combat and Chaos Improvements
The match should feel clearer, heavier, faster, and more unpredictable.
Melee Hit Poof effects added to make successful hits visible • Melee impact and physics tuning improved • Character mass increased where needed • Collector acceleration and mass increased • Sir Cuddles’ speed and acceleration increased • Sir Cuddles summons minions faster • Spordy moves approximately twice as fast • Spordy summons smaller mushrooms more frequently • T-Rex summoning adjusted for performance • Lob Teddy count reduced by half • Lob Teddy firing speed reduced slightly • Fixed Mini Collectors continuing to collect for the wrong team after switching sides • Fixed Humbaba incorrectly spawning as Cryron • Humbaba summon functionality restored
🎮 Interface and Presentation
The main menu now communicates Riftborn’s modes more clearly.
“Winner Takes All” renamed to Showdown • “Seven Game Series Championship” renamed to Championship Series • Main menu button sizing and positioning improved • Arena presentation strengthened • Bull of Heaven entrance presentation completed
⚙️ Performance Improvements
Several systems were adjusted to maintain the scale of Riftborn’s chaos without sacrificing performance.
FPS-based performance target increased from 60 to 62 • Anu building drops reduced and optimized • Rain and snow emission lowered • Lob Teddy projectile pressure reduced • Cataclysm timing adjusted • Terrain detail density reduced • Camera post-processing standardized • Large summons and battlefield effects further optimized
🛠️ Behind the Scenes
Entrance video can now be skipped
Riftborn’s internal development structure, operational systems, and private roadmap have now been established. A public roadmap is also planned.
The Gilgamesh Expansion is nearly wrapped up. Once it is complete, development will shift toward a major core-game update designed to improve nearly every part of the project.
🎮 Dev Message
