Hello Community and Survivors!
The development of Return: Unknown continues – step by step, a world is taking shape where every decision matters. Even if progress is sometimes slower than I would like, this project is filled with passion and hard work. Your ideas, wishes, and feedback play a huge role in shaping the game. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out at any time.
If you enjoy what you see so far, I would truly appreciate it if you recommended Return: Unknown to your friends. Word of mouth is incredibly important for an indie project and helps me plan the future of the game more clearly and meet your expectations even better.
Testing Phase and Release Preparation
Many of you are asking when the game will be released. At the moment, I cannot give a fixed release date, as quality is my top priority.
Before Return: Unknown is officially released, I am planning a testing phase with selected players. During this phase, players will get early access to the game in order to test it and provide valuable feedback. This feedback is extremely important to help me improve the game and properly prepare for the final release.
Important: To make sure you don’t miss the start of the testing phase, please make sure to follow the game on Steam. This is the best way to receive a notification when test sign-ups begin.
Your First Shelter in a Lost World
Right now, I am working on your future starting location. Inspired by the movie I Am Legend, the iconic building at 11 Washington Square North will become your first home in a deserted world. A place that offers safety and at the same time marks the beginning of your fight for survival.
A New Threat: The Seekers
One of the most exciting new features are the Seekers, human infected who will become one of your greatest threats. They hunt relentlessly at night and hide in the shadows during the day. But once they step into direct sunlight, they begin to burn, a mechanic that is already working very well and will open up new tactical possibilities for you.
Crossplay – Survive Across Platforms
A major focus of development is crossplay. Return: Unknown is being built from the ground up to support cross-platform play, starting with Steam and Epic.
What does this mean for you? No matter which platform you play on, you will be able to survive together. No extra purchases, no complicated accounts. Start the game, invite your friends, and jump straight into the adventure.
Thank you for your support and for following along!
