Requiem For a Lost World changes
The new update is back on schedule, and today's changes mostly focus on implementing features requested on Discord! (。・∀・)ノ゙
It's a smaller update, but I hope you'll enjoy the new additions! For now, I'll address one particular point from a review:
Character Animations
This update introduces idle animations for every playable character. Each one has its own rig, unlike the frame animations used for enemies. This makes animations much smoother and easier to adjust in the future if needed.
I also updated several heavily outdated character sprites and cleaned up some AI artifacts in the rest—at least to the best of my ability.
Characters with updated sprites:
Eliza
Oana
Nishi (Vanquisher of Faith)
Arika
Chitose
Summer
Amelia (Bearer of Dream)
Natalie
Truzi
As for animations like walking or perspective shifts, maintaining consistency with AI tools remains challenging. Further improvements may be possible as tools evolve.
Menu Extensions
Pause Menu
The pause menu now features two additional options:
Collection
Tutorials
If you need a refresher on mechanics or want to browse available items to plan future level-ups, these options should help!
Additionally, I've expanded the stat list display. You can toggle between these options in the settings:
Simple - The same as before, displaying only essential stats
Full list - Shows most character stats available in the game
Non-zero - Displays only modified stats (affected by items, relics, or character abilities)
These settings also apply to the character selection screen!
And one more pause menu fix: pressing Escape will no longer close the entire pause screen when exiting submenus.
Character Selection
Tired of clicking through every character to find ones with half-full or empty relic pages? Character cards now display the number of occupied slots on their relic pages.
Collection Screen
You can now quickly ban items by right-clicking their collection entry—no more jumping between screens!
Relic Rewards Pop-up
You can now close the pop-up by clicking anywhere—no need to aim for the confirm button anymore!
Relic Discard Notification
Mass-discarding relics? The game will now notify you of how many relics will be discarded based on the selected filter.
Also, I fixed an issue where the rarity filter didn’t work properly when multiple options were selected.
Steam Profile Banners
I'm growing more unhappy with the main menu by the day (︶^︶) As part of a potential future rework, I decided to improve a long-neglected feature:
The top-left corner now displays your Steam avatar and nickname as before, but also your global ranking—an average of your leaderboard rankings across all maps.
You can also change the banner graphic by clicking the small settings button:
Banners unlock via achievements, with more coming from events and the shop!
More Minimap Settings
More minimap marker toggles have been added to help declutter the map! You can also choose whether the map rotates with the character or stays fixed while icons rotate.
Shop Changes
Amelisana Fragments
Amelisana's fragments have been added to the shop!
Item Seals
The number of weapon/item bans is now limited. However, you can purchase Item Seals (up to 20) from the shop to increase this limit.
As a result, existing item bans will be reset. Sorry for the inconvenience ~(>_<。)
But on the bright side—banning items no longer disqualifies you from the leaderboards!
Character Tuning
Did you really think I'd take away item bans without an alternative? This feature is still in testing, and I'll tweak it based on feedback!
Character Tuning lets you set up a build plan for each character, accessible from the character card:
Each character has their own build plan:
You can specify up to 6 weapons and 6 items per character. Items in the build will have a higher chance of appearing (even if banned in the collection).
Build items are marked during level-ups:
Right-clicking an item in the list will open a quick summary pop-up:
Rebalancing
Difficulty Adjustments
Difficulties beyond Normal have been buffed—perhaps too much—but given what I've seen on the leaderboards, I think you'll manage.
Enemy Relics
Relics affecting enemy health, spawn rates, and counts now increase these stats instead of reducing them, allowing you to push higher leaderboard scores!
Leaderboards
Some of you are way too powerful. The highest score is currently 1.7kkk, dangerously close to Steam's 2.1kkk limit.
To prevent overflow, scores will be stored in a reduced format starting at 100k. Since I can't edit existing scores, the leaderboards will be wiped next patch ┗( T﹏T )┛
Compensation will be issued prior to that.
Cloud Save
Cloud saving is finally enabled! Your saves should now sync across devices.
Minor Changes and Fixes
Fixed typo in the Infernal Gate series of upgrades for Portal weapon
Fixed missing description of Darkened Resolve (II)
Fixed the Recollection pull button accepting clicks even after animation have already started
Fixed Corina's ultimate cooldown being abnormally short
Fixed key rebinding during gameplay being retriggered by a space button
Fixed the recollection menu animation missing animation for the tutorial button
Dreya's Withering state will no longer grant her additional damage based on character level
Fixed Kaware's summons fail to spawn in CO-OP scenario
Afterword
Hey, the dev here (≧∇≦)ノ Previous plans are still ongoing. I'm also rewriting the story fragments on characters and will probably update them in a small update soonish when I'm done! I mean, just the wording since the story is pretty much done at this point, I just have to tell it ┌(。Д。)┐
I've been thinking about pushing the early access period further since the Q2 seems less realistic now. I will of course continue updating the game even past the EA period, but I want to have a proper release be fun and bug free with a lot more features, to hopefully not flop!
Once again, big thanks for suggestions and see you next update!
