Relic Abyss changes
We're back and we have another update for you all! All welcome the Items and Caves difficulty update!
First off, we are partnering with Assemble Entertainment to bring new bundles for these cool survivors-like games! You should definitely check them out if you haven't yet! If you liked Relic Abyss, then you'll be sure to like these two games!

Overgrown Caves Difficulty 2-5 now available
Steam post imageIn case you haven't been keeping up with our discord / social media, we've released the Overgrown Caves update on the public beta branch on Saturday. We did so because we needed some early data from our discord players regarding if the caves difficulties were optimized enough before we release it in the live build.
We did a lot of optimizations and difficulty 5 should be able to run at a 60 fps on most mid end devices. But we'll be further optimizing it for lower end devices in the future!
If you want to participate on early content, you can also join our discord and play early builds using the public beta branch that we have made.
To access it, click the gear icon -> Properties -> Game Versions & Betas -> publicbeta branch.
I honestly wanted to have the Crimson Glass Forest difficulties too on this patch, but optimization and testing took a lot of time. So sorry for that! But it's gonna be our focus for the next major update!
55 new items have been added in the game
It's been a long time coming, but we finally added all of the equipment meant to be in all of the current levels!
These are the sets:
Adventurer Set
Forged Set
Magic Set
Runic Set
Enchanted Set
Each of this sets can now be found on specific levels of the game. Higher difficulties will yield more defined loot. For example difficulty 1 on the Outer Layer will have a 1:3 chance to spawn a Worn Out Equipment and 1:4 chance to spawn an Adventurer Equipment. If you play on Difficulty 5, the odds of Adventurer Set will be 1:2.
The lower level you are in the Abyss, the better the loot will be!
Equipment Smithing changes
With the addition of a lot of new equipment sets. Inventory management and smithing will be harder. This is why we have changed the smithing requirements to no longer be set-specific. Meaning you can mix and match different equipments from different sets.
Rarity and Smithing level (+) are still required to make a smitthing happen. We will add more features to make life easier in the future!
Major Bug fixes and balancing
We've also done a lot of major bug fixes like the game freezing if you interact with too many items/chests or a but that will hard lock you to a dialogue.

Equipment stats quality has been decreased by a tiny bit.

Nerfed all Distle Damage
Nerfed Grunla projectile count
Fixed: Game freezing with only dialogue box active when interacting with a shrine. (Happens when you interact with items/chests/relics really fast then interact with a shrine.)
Fixed: Hard lock with chest opening UI after interacting with two chests really fast.
Changed: After defeating the level boss, all enemies, shrines, and exp shards will be cleared.
Next goal
Our goal for the next patch is to finish up the dungeons and the difficulty levels of the Crimson Glass Forest and the 42 new cards that we will be adding in the game. The cards might take a while because each of those cards will have a special effect. That will need a lot of testing and also localization work that's why I haven't included it yet.
But rest assured, we're continually doing a lot of progress everyday! Our artist will also finally start doing the art for Chapter 4 starting this month so please look forward to more cool stuff in the future!
