addedFIGHTING FOR PROGRESSSo what does character progression look like in Reignbreaker ? You'll get KO'd a lot in this game, but that's just a small setback: all of your progress is saved from run to run...except your Key Money, which the Trench Rats will happily take as their "fee" for rescuing you from death. Most importantly, you'll still have your Resolve : strange crystals that hold a powerful energy. You can spend Resolve in camp for permanent character upgrades like increased health, additional moves, new punch combos, resurrections, better or different Vault items, and more.
addedAN ARSENAL FOR THE AGESThere are dozens of Javelins to collect over the course of your campaign, so by the end you'll have amassed quite the arsenal of weapons to maximize your reignbreaking abilities. Want a Javelin that adds a damage-over-time debuff? How about one that attaches a sticky bomb to enemies? Some Javelins trigger after a couple seconds, letting you steer clear of the explosion. A few even act like proximity mines, triggering only when an enemy gets close.
addedDIFFICULTY SPIKESUnlike many other games in the roguelike genre, Reignbreaker follows a campaign structure that gradually ramps up in difficulty over time. Your first raid will be a fairly simple affair, with smaller waves, weaker enemies, and a miniboss encounter at the end. But if you can defeat the Guardian in the final room, the Bastion's chambers will shift -- meaning your next raid attempt won't be so easy. The Queen will throw even more types of enemies at you, they'll be harder to kill, and they might even have new abilities or resistances. But that's nothing you can't handle, right?
addedWEAPON SPOTLIGHT: TORNADOThis Javelin will literally blow you away. (sorry) The Tornado bayonet gives you more control of the battlefield by letting you push enemies around. It may do less damage, but clever players will find ways to use the environment to their advantage, and combine these attacks with other Javelins to create devastating new playstyles.

FIGHTING FOR PROGRESS
So what does character progression look like in Reignbreaker? You'll get KO'd a lot in this game, but that's just a small setback: all of your progress is saved from run to run...except your Key Money, which the Trench Rats will happily take as their "fee" for rescuing you from death. Most importantly, you'll still have your Resolve: strange crystals that hold a powerful energy. You can spend Resolve in camp for permanent character upgrades like increased health, additional moves, new punch combos, resurrections, better or different Vault items, and more.
AN ARSENAL FOR THE AGES
There are dozens of Javelins to collect over the course of your campaign, so by the end you'll have amassed quite the arsenal of weapons to maximize your reignbreaking abilities. Want a Javelin that adds a damage-over-time debuff? How about one that attaches a sticky bomb to enemies? Some Javelins trigger after a couple seconds, letting you steer clear of the explosion. A few even act like proximity mines, triggering only when an enemy gets close.
You'll start with just one simple Javelin, but will soon unlock more by quickly completing chambers, reaching certain points in the campaign, or just by finding them hidden away in the dark corners of the Bastion. Keep your eyes peeled!
DIFFICULTY SPIKES
Unlike many other games in the roguelike genre, Reignbreaker follows a campaign structure that gradually ramps up in difficulty over time. The Queen will throw even more types of enemies at you, they'll be harder to kill, and they might even have new abilities or resistances. But that's nothing you can't handle, right?
WEAPON SPOTLIGHT: TORNADO
This Javelin will literally blow you away. (sorry) The Tornado bayonet gives you more control of the battlefield by letting you push enemies around. It may do less damage, but clever players will find ways to use the environment to their advantage, and combine these attacks with other Javelins to create devastating new playstyles.
