📢 Development Update: Raveren Is Entering a Temporary Hiatus
Hi everyone,
This is one of those updates that’s difficult to write, but important to share honestly.
Over the past months, we’ve poured a lot of ourselves into Raveren — the worldbuilding, the atmosphere, the tools, the systems, the identity of the game. It’s a project that means a lot to us, and we know many of you have been quietly following along, waiting to see where it goes next.
Because of that, we want to be upfront: Raveren is going on a temporary hiatus.
Why We’re Pausing
A mix of setbacks and shifting priorities has made it clear that pushing forward right now wouldn’t be healthy for the project or the team. Some of the challenges we’ve been dealing with include:
Significant loss of project data that would require major rebuilding
Internal restructuring and a re‑evaluation of our long‑term studio roadmap
The need to focus resources on other active PixelPunk projects for the time being
These aren’t small bumps — they’re the kind that force you to stop, breathe, and rethink the path ahead. Rather than push through and risk compromising the quality or the vision of the game, we’re choosing to step back and regroup.
What This Means Going Forward
To be clear:
Raveren is not cancelled
No new builds or updates will be released during the hiatus
Devlogs and community posts will slow down while we reorganise
We’ll return with a clearer direction and a more stable foundation
This pause isn’t about giving up. It’s about protecting the project so that when we return to it, we can do it justice.
A More Personal Note
Raveren has always been a passion project — something atmospheric, moody, strange, and full of potential. We’ve had moments where everything clicked beautifully, and moments where things fell apart harder than expected. That’s game development, but it doesn’t make the tough moments any easier.
Taking a break is never an easy decision, especially when people are watching and waiting. But we’d rather be honest with you than pretend everything is fine behind the scenes.
If you’ve been following the project, supporting it, or even just quietly checking in from time to time — thank you. It genuinely means a lot. Your interest is part of what makes stepping back now the right choice, because you deserve a version of Raveren that’s built on solid ground.
We’ll Be Back
When we return to Raveren, it’ll be with renewed clarity, stronger tools, and a development plan that’s sustainable for the long haul. We’re not closing the book — just marking the page for now.
Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and your support. We’ll share more when the time is right.
