What did "parting ways" mean?

Unfortunately a lot of people saw the phrase "parting ways" and assumed it meant I was canceling development. This is not the case, and instead purely refers to me severing my relationship with the games publisher.

What is happening with RNPS development?

It is being paused, NOT canceled as a lot of people were thinking (Paused meaning a couple months of inactivity) I may still occasionally "tinker" with the project in my general absence, but my role in it will be extremely decreased temporarily.

Why is it being paused?

I was quite vague in the original announcement, so I'll be a little more specific.

  • I spend a lot of time on this project, to the point I can't even easily fit in things like work or my future projects.

  • I have spent an extremely long time working on this project, a lot of people aren't fully aware of this games history but to brief; I started work on it in 2022, that is 4 years of my life spent working on it, with half of that being spent on updating it after release.

  • While I have made a good amount of money for what this project is, it is still completely insufficient for me to actually live, if I was living on my own, I wouldn't even be able to eat properly for the whole month (A minimum wage job could offer me more), and given the amount of time I put into this project, I update it more out of the fact I owe it to you than out of monetary value for myself.

Conclusion

No I am not quitting development outright, yes I will make more updates in the future, and this is purely just so I can get a job, and do a little bit of work done on something that can actually help me out in the long run.
