Rain Tactics changes
Hope you are all enjoying some well deserved time-off during the winter break. From my side, as the end of the year is drawing near, I thought it was a good time to give you all an update on Rain Tactics' development.
As some of you may know, I conducted a playtest of Rain Tactics in May which was a great opportunity for me to receive early feedback on the demo. So first, wanted to thank all the people who took the time to play the game and give some input. It really was super helpful and quite exciting for me to get the demo live online ! Main points of feedback are the following:
Expand the battle system: by providing the playable characters with more abilities early on, by enabling more interactions between characters, and by making enemies more active
Give incentive to continue beyond the tutorial: by revising the tutorial setup and introducing additional characters early on
Make the demo less punishing: by revising the difficulty and relying less on "Hit/Miss" mechanics
All these inputs have convinced me to take the time to further improve the demo. Most of the updates I am implementing are either about i) addressing feedback received or ii) adding some content I did not have the time to put into the initial playtest (like allies quests). I will write a separate post to detail all the changes/ additions but as you may have guessed; this is taking a bit of time. So while I was hoping to release the demo by end of 2024, I am sorry to postpone (and this time, i will not abide by a specific timeline, I just want to take the time to make it right).
So all this to tell you all that Rain Tactics development is progressing, that I am really grateful for your support, and that I wish you all a great end of 2024 / wonderful 2025. Will try to post a bit more next year !
