Development on QANGA has been progressing well, even if we’ve been a bit quiet lately, and we’re finally ready to share a first look at what we’ve been working on over the past few weeks. This new step marks an important turning point: the moment when the game’s foundations, often invisible from the outside, slowly give way to more narrative, immersive… and more regular content.

Today, we want to talk about two major elements shaping the future of QANGA: the revamped tutorial and our brand-new internal quest creation tool.

A New Start: The Awakening Center

In the upcoming update, your adventure will begin in an entirely new environment: the Awakening Center of Djibouti.

This is where your Cyborg awakens for the very first time, right after the synchronization of the human mind that forms its core. And let’s just say… something clearly didn’t go as planned.

Without spoiling too much, this new introduction lays the groundwork for a more narrative-driven opening:

  • a more believable environment,

  • a stronger sense of atmosphere,

  • a more immersive beginning to the story,

  • and a smoother, more natural onboarding.

You’ll still learn the core mechanics from the current tutorial: scanner, Matter, jetpack,… but presented through a more lively, more guided, more story-oriented sequence.

Here’s a first look at what you’ll discover in this new tutorial, as you wake up for the very first time. Keep in mind that it’s still a work in progress.

Meeting Tona

This is also where players will meet Tona for the first time.

Tona is a recurring character in QANGA: the very first human whose mind was ever synchronized into a Cyborg. A near-historic figure in this universe… but also someone whose true intentions remain somewhat unclear.

You will only communicate with him at a distance in the tutorial, but this first contact sets the foundations for a narrative thread that will follow you far beyond this introduction.

We’re staying intentionally vague here to avoid spoilers, but you can expect a mysterious, intriguing presence, and a character who will play an important role in the story’s evolution.

A Fully In-House Quest Creation Tool

The other major highlight of this update is our brand-new quest creation system.

This tool was developed entirely in-house by the team. No Unreal asset pack, no third-party plugin. Everything was built specifically for QANGA and its needs.

With this tool:

  • we can now create quests more quickly,

  • they can be more varied, more dynamic, and more narrative,

  • interactions between objectives, dialogue and gameplay are far more flexible,

  • and the whole team can contribute more easily.

To give you an idea of how accessible it is: Juliaan (your beloved CM… yes, it’s me writing this!) managed to create a full quest from scratch with zero programming knowledge, thanks to an introductory crash course from ZouZixx. It shows how robust the tool is for developers, while still being intuitive enough to let several team members directly contribute to content creation.

It’s a small internal revolution, but one that will have a huge impact on your experience.

Foundations That Finally Make Space for Content

Since the start of Early Access, much of our work has focused on the game’s foundations: systems, architecture, optimization, tools, core mechanics…

In other words: everything that allows QANGA to exist, but that isn’t always visible to players.

Today, many of those foundations are solid.

And that means something very important: the team can now move increasingly toward content creation itself.

This revamped tutorial, this new quest system, and the tools behind it are only the first steps of a new phase for QANGA.

You can expect more regular content updates, more varied quests, better integrated storytelling, and an overall more cohesive experience.

We’ll share more with you in the coming weeks. And stay tuned on our socials! Chances are we’ll be revealing a bit more as time goes on.

And don’t forget to join us on Discord. We can’t wait to hear your thoughts and chat a bit about QANGA with you!
