Good evening folks!

Now more than ever, as cities get bigger and bigger, I get so much fun out of browsing all the towns you are making, and seeing the creative ways you use the existing assets to build theaters, university districts, railways, racetracks or many other art pieces. Your creativity is inspiring and I'm happy to continue building on a world that enables you to experiment <3 Also lore-wise it is fun to see what all of you are creating. And I hope that as more and more of the story gets uncovered using expeditions, it gives you all a framework to start building your own stories in the world of Project Rebearth!

I appreciate you all sharing issues you encountered or ideas you had. I feel like there were less game breaking bugs this month so I have been able to spend quite a bit of time on new features and quality of life improvements. Here are recent changes you might have missed:

  • Improved map export UI and included features like adding grids and choosing the output resolution. This makes the maps more useful for things like TTRPGs for example

  • First story artifacts have been implemented! Have fun exploring the world! It can be that you still stumble upon an empty artifact. rest assured that its content will be added soon as I implement it continuously

  • The museum now also properly activates the 'archive', which gives you a nice overview of all the artifacts you have found so far

  • Increased the range at which docks and ships can be placed from the port to 2km, so you have more freedom in how you build out docks and place ships around your territory

  • You can now give markets a name. These will appear as local place names (without icon). If you don't give the market a name, no label will appear. Name suggestions are still available, but you can also choose to type your own! (20 character limit & common sense moderation still applies)

  • A demolition tool allows you to more efficiently remove multiple buildings at the same time

  • Performance improvements that should make the world tiles load in faster

  • Blueprints are in testing! These custom made templates will be shareable through the Steam Workshop. They are now being tested, as soon as the feature is stable, it will be released for everyone to start creating and sharing! Estimated time is in about a weeks time.

I heard some complaints about Discord being the main platform of communications. We now also have a subreddit at https://www.reddit.com/r/ProjectRebearth/ to diversify the channels to talk about Project Rebearth with me or with others.

I'm looking forward to see you and your creations there!

Sam
