Small yet important update coming soon!

Hi! Sorry for the long silence, but we've been hard at work (at our 9 to 5s) and on the game.

What changed

0 fixes4 additions0 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
  • UI and audio
addedNew Content
addedStarting a new game there resets progress to a point, and I was trying to play a new game with a friend. So I had to manually back up my saves from the folder. I want you guys to not have to go through that.
addedI'm still keeping the UI minimal and out of the way (that's why there's a Default profile so you won't have to go and create your own whenever you open the game for the first time with the new patch).
addedThe Flooded District (which you will be able to unflood), The Pyramid District which will make use of our new slope sliding feature, and The Barrens, where most of Pharygia's farmlands reside. We may have to investigate a mystery over there at some point too ;)

Hi! Sorry for the long silence, but we've been hard at work (at our 9 to 5s) and on the game.

We're working on:

  • Save Profiles

  • Controls Remapping

  • New Content

  • Reworking the sprint mechanic

The other day I was playing Sekiro (finally beat Inner Isshin) and it hit me that in that game, the sprint always starts with a small dash. I thought that would be awesome for our game.

Like instead of having to wait a second to get up to speed, you get a boost of speed, not unlike our current slide (we're reusing the code for that one hehe) but instead of being so long and lowering your hitbox this one ONLY gives you the boost to top sprinting speed.

I thought it would feel great, and I will appreciate if the 2-3 awesome peeps that actually take the time to read these come back to play it when the update eventually comes out.

We are still sorely in need of your feedback.

That and well I think Save Profiles and Control Remapping are pretty self explanatory.

The save profiles idea was always there, but it came back to me while playing Sifu.

Starting a new game there resets progress to a point, and I was trying to play a new game with a friend. So I had to manually back up my saves from the folder. I want you guys to not have to go through that.

I'm still keeping the UI minimal and out of the way (that's why there's a Default profile so you won't have to go and create your own whenever you open the game for the first time with the new patch).

It's a BIG change since I'm reworking how the game saves data to accomodate for all this. So instead of using Unity's Built-In PlayerPrefs it should save data in a JSON.

I've also been expanding the following areas in the game. I've already got elevators and moving platforms working for a few of the deeper areas, and we're looking to iterate on the Trebuchet Cemetery area and the Kurite Mines area. I'm also expanding the grayboxing for the Capital of Pharygia. Now it's 4 times the size, to accomodate for a few of the planned districts.

The Flooded District (which you will be able to unflood), The Pyramid District which will make use of our new slope sliding feature, and The Barrens, where most of Pharygia's farmlands reside. We may have to investigate a mystery over there at some point too ;)

Hopefully we'll have more news for you soon!
