In this devblog dedicated to the playable characters, we take you behind the scenes of their design.
All this is based on a simple idea: link gameplay, personality and animal symbolism to create immediately recognizable figures.
The Playable Characters (PC)
Alice Curie - Elegance and support
Alice embodies a refined elegance, perfectly in line with her personality. Moreover, she is of French origin. She is therefore the little artistic touch in connection with the development team.
Her story :
Upon her arrival in Chicago, Alice was quickly recruited into the police force as a doctor and medical examiner. It was at this time that she met Malone B. Clonan and Peter Ness.
Despite her haughty behavior, she has always been very protective of others, which is why following Peter ’s death, she promised herself to take care of her son Eliot.
Back in town after a stay in France, she joins the team newly formed by Eliot to bring down the mafia and its meat trafficking.
Notes from the development team :
"Alice, Alice, Alice... she represents the French touch of our team! And yet, it is she who has undergone the most changes during production. Because her model was not an antelope at the base, but we’ll tell you more about the development anecdotes soon..."
Gameplay : support for allies and weakening of the senses for enemies.
Artistic direction : fine lines, noble posture, green color reflecting medicine and health but also poison.
Frank E.Eager - Precision and neutralization
Frank has a major asset: his sharp eyesight, allowing him to shoot without ever missing his target. It is embodied by a bald eagle, symbol of the United States.
His story :
Having served as a sniper alongside Malone B. Clonan during the Great War, he also made the acquaintance of Tracy Raskova during this period, another sniper.
Their paths will separate until Frank finds her trace in Chicago, Tracy being involved in the traffic of Al Capone. Malone will take the opportunity to recruit him into Eliot ’s new team, newly created for his sharp skills.
Notes from the development team :
"Frank is indeed a bald eagle and not an eagle if that helps to make a decision. Thanks to his sharp eyesight, he was naturally assigned the role of sniper, but initially, we wanted to give him the ability to fly/plane."
Gameplay : long range, trap and diversion
Artistic direction : piercing gaze, slender posture, purple color reflecting calm and wisdom, but also death.
Tina Sanders - The elusive
Tina is a spy inspired by the fennec fox: discreet, fast, elusive, she is the resourceful character par excellence.
Her story :
Orphan and street thief, Tina grew up on underprivileged neighborhoods.
After the tragic death of her parents, she decides to do justice herself and find their executioner: Bullgator, Al Capone ’s right-hand man.
In her quest for revenge, she will find herself mingled with the Untouchables and join them to bring down the meat trade and free her people.
Notes from the development team :
"It took us a while to figure out which animal could best represent the character of Tina, the street thief. And finally, after several days, even weeks of research and debate, the fennec fox stood out as the best choice."
Gameplay : diversion, mobility, and discretion
Artistic direction : slim silhouette, quick movements, beige color reflecting the ability to blend into the crowd, like a grain of sand among many others.
