Primordial Empire changes
Peaceful base-building is over! Primordial Empire just got a Combat Update, featuring a new combat scenario with new enemies and challenges. Muster your army of lancet cells and prepare your defence. Protect your colony of microbes from the relentless attacks of hostile organisms!
Update Highlights:
Steam post imageIntroducing the Hydra, a static turret with powerful projectiles. This defensive plant is slumbering somewhere on the combat scenario map. Explore every nook and cranny to retrieve it and bolster your defence.
The enemies come with a well-equipped army of diverse units:
Carnitubes - static structures (plants) hazardous to your wandering cells
Parasites and their Hives - "skirmishers" that harass and disrupt your colony
Stabpole - rank and file of the invaders. Attacks both cells and plants
Purgeling - a "siege unit" that can destroy plants with its devastating barrage
There are also a myriad of optimizations and fixes:
Improved control: Attractive Pheromones diffuse "around corners" (i.e. can now call Cells that have no direct line of sight if a path is still relatively easy to find)
Grubber Burrows now don't cost any upkeep
Reduced Lancet Hive mineral placement cost
Improved information about plants: what they see, what their reach is, etc. Plants like Grubber Burrows or Neurons show harvestable clusters/connections not only during build mode, but also when selecting existing plants. Same is true for Lumifloras' light cone.
Fixed symbiotic feeding chain sometimes getting stuck not calling for Feeder Cells.
Fixed radial menu tools disabling their control panel after repeated selection.
Optimized several core functions, (e.g., wall collision resolving, drawing functions)
Bugfix: using combat warnings to jump to Carnitubes may crash the game
- Improved recycle toolMore intuitive cell/plant selection behavior based on circle overlap with creatures. Improved clarity by highlighting selected creatures.
Outside of everything mentioned above, secrets lurk in the darkness of Primordial Empire. Can you find them?
And on that note, we shall conclude this patch notes. Feel free to let us know if you have any thoughts on the update or Primordial Empire as a whole. Every bit of feedback is crucial nutrition for our game to grow. Best of luck in your conquest of this microscopic world, and we look forward to bringing you more new content soon.
