Small updates recap

Between the big, planned updates, there will be some smaller ones. Here is a summary of these updates since the release in Early Access:

  • AI difficulty now goes up to 120%

  • When AI is above 100%, they will take curves more aggressively, attacking the kerbs and using inertia better in tighter turns. Their top speed remains unchanged, so the fight is fair.

  • While hotlapping for the leaderboards, you start a few hundred meters behind so you reach the start line at full speed

  • Added a new GT car

  • Made grass more forgiving

  • Improved visibility. Camera zooms out 10% more at full speed.

  • Camera shake can now be turned off in the options menu

  • Added lights to Jeddah

  • Corrected CTD bugs in car selection screen and two other instances

  • UI adjustments for Spanish

  • Fixed portraits not showing up in multiplayer races

  • In random split-screen races, Player 2's car model was sometimes used by AI

  • Under certain conditions rain could appear while doing timetrials

  • Corrected accelerator, it was working as analogue when using a controller, 0% or 100%

  • Fix AI not reversing when getting stuck into a wall

  • WunstorfAdjusted AI
  • WunstorfAdjusted track layout
  • COTAgraphical pass and improved object placement around track
  • COTAremoved possible shortcut

What comes next?

Work on the track editor is advancing at full speed (without super clipping). I have things working, you can create tracks with basic decorations, and you can upload and download them from the Workshop.

The focus on the coming weeks is to improve the UI, to make the process as easy as possible. I’m also planning to redo some under the hood systems so that everything is as flexible as possible. That will allow me to add new features without breaking compatibility.
