POSTAL 4: No Regerts changes
This update focuses on polish, quality of life improvements, bug fixing, balancing and tying up a lot of obvious loose ends based on community feedback. The aim is to make the game more enjoyable for veterans and new comers alike. Work very much will continue in this area going forward with smaller, more frequent updates to follow. That's not to say P4 will never see any new features or content, but that will come after more polish focused updates.
While we have left older saves compatible (but flagged), it's recommended to start a new game with this update. The previous build (1.5.0) is available in the beta branch should anyone want to roll back to carry on with an in-progress save.
The Beta branch has also been updated and includes many improvements and fixes for co-op (co-op is still exclusive to the beta branch, but is edging close to a public release) The public beta branch can be accessed and switched to via the main in-game menu and does not require a password.

Cat Dude's attacks now properly trigger blood effects. While weapon and power-up wheels are active, players can no longer throw weapons or power-ups by mistake. Interactables now take priority over reload when highlighted. Fixed physics object pickup logic — objects can now be picked up before waking them with a kick, etc. Increased Dude Eye range by 25%. Added rumble and camera shake to fall damage
The default radio station is now set to KDTF. Increased Nitro recharge rate and duration. Increased grenade windup speed. Cut painting pickup time in half. Radio audio no longer remains active after exiting the go-kart. Players now properly receive their original outfit back when switching to the Sexy Outfit, regardless of previous attire (excluding the classic Dude outfit and bathrobe). Disabled streaming for all Scooter ATM textures. Performance improvements in the border town area. Added a toggle for mirror reflections, set off by default on Steam Deck. Fixed an inaccessible pickup in Anu's Inn. and added more loot to the attic.
Fixed Dude overlapping dialogue when eating lots of food in quick succession.
Petition: Can now apply weapon attachments (cat, etc.) to off-hand weapon if present.
Gnomes are easier to pickup.
When becoming the Cat Dude, the player should no longer lose equipped police uniform
Fix for player starting with the Spray Can (and other items placing themselves in player's inventory outside of the intended day) Switched dual-wield fire buttons by default (left mouse fires the left gun, right mouse fires the right gun).
NPCs now exhibit more varied combat behavior: they no longer all draw weapons and fire simultaneously, and are more likely to issue warnings before attacking. Fixed NPCs' weird posing during turret attacks. Fixed NPCs' upper body not turning during combat (and possibly other scenarios). Characters with weapons equipped no longer attempt to use interest points (which led to broken animations). When attacked by pigeons, NPCs enter a panicked state and are unable to shoot the player (bosses remain unaffected). NPCs no longer get stuck in place looking around aimlessly before moving. NPCs who burn to death no longer bleed (unless you kick or shoot them after death). Disabled NPCs' random "what the?" stare reaction when nothing of interest is really going on. Fixed NPCs not correctly using arcade machines. Fixed the catnip cat animation not playing as intended. Increased the cat's pickup radius. Fixed issues with cowardly and idling cats
NPCs react when hit with spray paint
Go Postal events now autosave upon successful completion and reset spawners on failure, allowing players to retry. Go Postal Events now instantly reload all weapons when they begin. Go Postal Events which set the Dude on fire no longer cause him to lose health. Fixed some Go Postal Event indicators not turning grey after completion. Improved performance during Turret Go Postal Event. Fixed turret Go Postal Event in L9. Mallet Go Postal Event: enemy count in the description now matches the actual amount. Fixed P3 Go Postal Event not detecting urine.
The Wanted meter now starts from the left instead of the center. Fixed many HUD textures to never stream (so they are not blurry) HUD Text Size menu option now includes hint text, with a Steam Deck default setting. The HUD skull overlay now grows larger and is easier to see when the player nears death. Subtitles can now be resized, and defaults to Large on Steam Deck.
Moved the cutscene skip prompt to the corner so it no longer blocks subtitles.
Fixed keypad always showing a green prompt, even when not using a gamepad. Keypads now have the "1" button selected by default when using a controller.
Implemented the "saving scissors" icon, replaces most "checkpoint" and "game saved" text messages
Fixed an issue where the phone would get stuck on the Lifepeeper tab while waiting for hate groups. Fixed an issue in the Clothes Bag that could cause the Phone App to become completely unresponsive. Fixed a bug which could cause the Phone Screen to be unusable with mouse and keyboard. Smooth continuous scrolling is now enabled for Krotchy's Tips using gamepad analog sticks, eliminating the need for repeated inputs. The menu also now scrolls to the end when selected, rather than the top, to show the last hint given. Bringing up the Phone now defaults to the Map tab every time (not the previously selected) unless invoked with the inventory, weapons, or other input buttons. Fixed Cat Dude weapons showing on the phone screen.
Various settings now apply correctly when changed and don’t revert on game restart. Fixed menus not scrolling correctly on controller in several situations.

Video Settings Menu
fixed the sharpness slider not working with gamepad/menu buttons. Fixed texture streaming issues. Delayed confirmation when switching settings presets until the player clicks or presses confirm (prevents the prompt from appearing while arrowing through options).
Waypoints are now yellow rather than red between fast travel stations. Fixed a bug causing the camera to fail to pan to errand locations in some situations. Slowed map cursor analog stick movement. Fixed missing location names for sublevels (VR, Mall, etc.). Mike's audio now plays properly when assigning the Kunny Island mission on Wednesday. Boss fight dialogue for Vince now plays correctly on Friday.
PIII Dude outfit is now available in Free Roam. The Dilbow pickup in the BDSM shop is now accessible in Free Roam. Go Postal events are now available in Free Roam. Fixed missing POI icons in Free Roam.
Reduced sewer door entrance time.
Mutant rats can now be killed with a single pistol shot. Fixed missing prompt on a crate. Added vending machines and M16 ammo pickups. Added grenade pickups in the clogged pipe room. Reduced pipe unclog water blast duration to 3 seconds. The Foreman now hints about using explosives earlier. Reduced the number of enemies that spawn in the Pump Room. Increased sewer hobos' idle chance to 25% (was 0%). Sewer hobos in the pump parts room are now hostile initially, instead of just standing there. Replaced crates with pallets in the pump room for better physics stablitly
Added a quick cutscene showing the exit door opening after the errand. Fixed floating platforms before the pump room. Reduced radio guy nag frequency.
Fix missing blocker on Tuesday-Friday to prevent dude and cat dude from getting back in (Free Roam sewer still open)
The baton now auto-equips on pickup during the tutorial. Fixed accessibility of the Prison Locker; a hint now suggests using the Weapon Wheel to change baton padding. Keypress prompts have been added to keypads and lockers for clarity. Fixed prisoners roaming free before they should. Fixed the training dummy tutorial not progressing as intended in the Enhanced Game. Fixed a janky entrance to the Prison (added a fade to black before transition; fixed entrance trigger position and collision). Added a receptionist at the main desk. Reduced prison entrance time. Fixed missing navigation in the Prison interior. Fixed a few small holes in the level geometry.
Fixed VETO not attacking the player in Animal Catcher. Disabled texture streaming for tutorial screens. Players now spawn outside the garage after the ending cutscene. Corrected misalignment of the cat chute hint trigger in the animal catcher shack
Fire hoses are now more effective against poo piles, making them a viable tool. Capped the maximum number of hostiles and reduced spawn rates. Police are no longer active during this errand.
Players now respawn at the last terminal they successfully hacked. Capped and reduced the number of police that can spawn. The player now faces the exit of the Police Station after the cutscene instead of the front desk. Fixed an alt-fire exploit that allowed instant completion of the errand. Changed a partially-closed pizza box to an open one to prevent it looking like a pizza pickup. Scrap bonus now works on legal vehicles as long as they're at a meter.
Fixed the checkpoint after the intro cutscene.
Reduced the number of hostiles spawned. Increased the size of map icons.
Disables wanted meter and Heat Assaults during the errand
The slingshot camera now uses a relative control system based on the slingshot's orientation, improving precision. Reduced the number of border patrol units spawned. Border patrol can no longer position themselves behind the player while on the slingshot. Immigrants now have double the collision size and a 30% increase in firing velocity. Immigrants load into the slingshot more quickly. Exiting the slingshot now requires pressing Interact, matching turrets and vehicles. Fixed softlocks caused by changing weapons, dying, etc. on the slingshot.
Fixed the boss fight not working properly. Mike J no longer pesters you over the radio about finishing power boxes when they're already done. Fixed interest point and bribery problems with Kunny and Carter. Added health and ammo vendors. Changed the interact hand back into a full prompt for power boxes
Trimmed the number of NPCs and stopped outside protestors from going inside. Fire station points now switch you to your previously selected weapon instead of hands when putting away the hose.
Disabled falling damage for collapsing traps; removed the "disappear timer" so boulders stay forever. Removed initial Tomb Raider enemies to let players get used to the idea of their being traps.
The elevator now has a text prompt.
Fixed an issue where players would slowly slide when standing still. Players are now given some money at the start of the errand, allowing them to skip the puzzles (or do the puzzles and keep the cash). Upon exiting, weapon skins now revert to normal or the previously used skin, and all VR weapon sounds stop. Nerd dialogue now pauses in the pause menu.

The sign and marker now combine automatically when both are picked in the starting area.
Bully/Thwart Dog
fixed the Spike boss health meter; it now displays when you approach Spike's territory.

fixed the "Gonadism" and "Shocker" paintings in the Affluent tile being unable to be picked up.

fixed a few holes in the skylift platform.

removed a janky cat ladder on the pole near Spike.

most Sniper Rifle ammo pickups are now available on Tuesday.
Get Milk: Fixed an issue where the milk would disappear if you died after getting it and escaping the convenience store.

Potential crash fix during the 'Game Tester' mission after destroying the robot. Fixed a crash when a player drops a lot of items (added a limit on dropped pickups). Fixed a crash after dying during the 'Get Champ & GTFO' errand. Fixed an OnInteractPressed crash.
Fixed a invitation bug. Fixed the lobby player count not updating when a player leaves and tries to rejoin. Fixed the "Enter password to join server" pop-up not appearing for the Client after re-invitation
Fixed players getting stuck in an unloaded area after fast traveling. Fixed a player dropping cats while having another item selected. Fixed Host being able to hear the Client's radio. Fixed Pay Fine secondary intro cutscene activation after arrest. Player overlap/hiding changes (other players now smoothly disappear; players no longer push each other when walking into them). Fixed Clients being unable to pass through the zap zone if they passed through it on karts. Fixed Clients being unable to change the weapon skin after completing the 'Game Tester' mission. Fixed weapons and items not disappearing from the Client after the start of the "Get Champ & GTFO" mission. Fixed reduced gravity remaining after a GoPostal Event ends. Fixed players receiving all weapons upon respawning without having to loot them. Fixed the dog's reaction not displaying to the Client after petting. Fixed players being able to purchase existing outfits. Fixed the RPG reload animation playing infinitely for the Client after changing ammo via the phone menu. Fixed Clients being unable to change ammo for melee weapons via the phone menu. VR World: VR sounds now turn off on all clients, not just the host. Fixed the 'Mass Appeal Makeover' mission breaking after a player puts on a sexy outfit. Fixed the scooter hint remaining 'locked' for the Client after renting the scooter.
