POSTAL 4: No Regerts changes

We still have a core team working on P4 and furthermore, some of the talent we've hired to work on F&W (such as a tech artist and lighting artist) will also be contributing to help further polish P4 over the course of the coming year. Today we've updated the Public Beta branch, available via the in-game main menu-select it from there and it'll reboot the game into the beta branch. It contains progress toward the upcoming ‘Polishing a Turd’ update. This patch focuses on resolving numerous intrusive bugs, refining game balance, AI and combat improvements, and several quality-of-life improvements. Co-op stability and functionality have also seen enhancements. Sorry if a change you hoped to see has not made this patch, we are still monitoring feedback and will keep on polishing the game for the foreseeable future.

Steam post image Players now respawn with full health and begin each new day with full health
Steam post image NPCs now exhibit more varied combat behavior: they no longer all draw weapons and fire simultaneously, and are more likely to issue warnings before attacking
Steam post image When attacked by pigeons, NPCs enter a panicked state and are unable to shoot the player (bosses remain unaffected)
Steam post image Cat Dude’s attacks now properly trigger blood effects
Steam post image Go Postal events now autosave upon successful completion and reset spawners on failure, allowing players to retry
Steam post image Phone: Smooth continuous scrolling is now enabled for Krotchy’s Tips using gamepad analog sticks, eliminating the need for repeated inputs. The menu now scrolls to the end when selected, rather than the top
Steam post image While weapon and power-up wheels are active, players can no longer throw weapons or power-ups
Pressing Fire, Alt Fire, or Zoom now cancels sprinting
Keypress prompts have been added to keypads and lockers for clarity
Mirrors are now interactable; the character no longer repeats dialogue every time he passes one
Sewer Worker
Mutant rats can now be killed with a single pistol shot
Fixed missing prompt on crate
Prison Guard
Fixed accessibility of the Prison Locker; a hint now appears suggesting use of the Weapon Wheel to change baton padding
Fix for prisoners roaming free before they should be
Mexi-Cleaner Errand
Fire hoses now have increased effectiveness against poo piles, making them a viable tool
The maximum number of hostiles that can spawn during the errand has been capped, and spawn rates have been reduced
Police are no longer active during this errand
Pay Fine / Police Station Errand
Players now respawn at the last terminal they successfully hacked
The number of police that can spawn has been capped and reduced for improved balance
Tag Turf Errand
A checkpoint has been added after the intro cutscene
The number of hostiles spawned has been reduced
Border Smuggler Errand
The slingshot camera now uses a relative control system based on the slingshot’s orientation, in order to improve control precision
The number of border patrol units spawned has been reduced
Border patrol can no longer position themselves behind the player while on the slingshot
Immigrants now have double the collision size and a 30% increase in firing velocity
Immigrants load into the slingshot more quickly
Exiting the slingshot now requires pressing Interact, matching behavior seen with turrets and vehicles
Fixed softlocks caused by changing weapons, dying, etc. on the Slingshot
Kunny Island Errand
Fixed boss fight not working properly
Free-Roam
PIII Dude outfit is now available in Free Roam
The Dilbow pickup in the BDSM shop is now accessible in Free Roam
Going Postal events are now available in Free Roam
Various settings now apply correctly when changed
Players now properly receive their original outfit back when switching to the Sexy Outfit, regardless of the previous attire (excluding the classic Dude outfit and bathrobe)
Fixed an issue where the phone would get stuck on the Lifepeeper tab while waiting for hate groups
NPCs no longer get stuck in place, looking around aimlessly before moving
Boss fight dialogue for Vince now plays correctly on Friday
Mike’s audio now plays properly when assigning the Kunny Island mission on Wednesday
Fixed an alt-fire exploit that allowed instant completion of the Pay Fine errand
Radio audio no longer remains active after exiting the go-kart
Corrected misalignment of the cat chute hint trigger in the animal catcher shack
Fixed menu not scrolling correctly on controller in several situations
New Game Menu: Fixed gamepad navigation between Monday and Free Roam
Performance improvements in the border town area
Fixed crashes that occurred when a Client accepted an invitation from the Host (invitations are now disabled outside the main menu)
Resolved "Failed to create session" error when switching host game tabs
Prevented premature"Waiting for players to load"completion
Fixed camera breakage for Clients in Co-op after death when spectating the Host.
Corrected the"Bidet Petitioner"mission, which could become impossible after auto-save if the Signature Counter increased on each death. The system now correctly restores ammo amounts upon respawn
Fixed syncing of Dude’s voice type during movie sequences
Resolved issues with invites breaking after entering an incorrect password
Fixed the ability for Clients to join a private game after entering an incorrect password
Server name now updates correctly when joining via the Steam friends list
Fixed crashes that occurred on server disconnect
Resolved the server password menu allowing connection without entering a password
Fixed Clients were unable to pass through the zap zone if they passed through it on Karts
Fixed Clients don't see the bells at the end of the day nor an interactable prompt
Fixed The final cutscene doesn't start for some Clients after completing the'Get Outta Here'mission
Fixed layer count is not updated in the lobby when players leaves it
