Upcoming Update Preview: City Walls, Towers & Gates
Hello everyone!
Before anything else, I just want to say thank you for continuing to play the game, share feedback, and send ideas every single week. It genuinely means a lot to me to see the community still so active and passionate about the future of Pompeii.
I read your comments carefully, and many of the improvements in upcoming patches are directly inspired by your suggestions and reports.
Strengthening the City Defenses
The next update, planned for early next week, will focus heavily on city defenses, bringing major improvements to walls together with the addition of defensive towers and city gates.
In Ancient Rome, walls were far more than simple protection, they were symbols of strength, stability, and prestige. Pompeii itself was surrounded by impressive defensive walls that evolved over centuries, originally built by earlier Italic peoples and later expanded and reinforced during Roman rule.
Even though the city eventually enjoyed a long period of peace, its walls remained an important part of its identity and appearance.
This update aims to make your cities feel more authentic, more strategic, and visually far more impressive when building large defended settlements.
What Comes Next
After this patch there will probably be a short pause between updates, as I’ll be focusing on preparing a much larger major update planned for roughly one month from now.
I’m not ready to reveal everything yet, but it will include a very large amount of new features, improvements, and a few surprises that I think many of you will enjoy.
Thank you again for all the support and positive reviews, and I hope you’ll enjoy the upcoming update!
