Over the past few weeks, we've been showcasing new locations, residents of Winston Springs, and additional parts of the police station. Today we're returning to one of the systems that will accompany you throughout your daily duties - vehicles.

And if cars are going to be a regular part of life in Winston Springs, it's time to answer an important question: what happens when things don't go according to plan?

We're currently working on a vehicle damage system that will add another layer of immersion to driving around Winston Springs. Every collision will leave its mark, and patrol cars won't always return in the same condition they left in.

Damage can appear on different parts of the vehicle, allowing each patrol car to tell its own story. Sometimes it'll be a minor scratch, and sometimes a much more expensive reminder of a bad decision behind the wheel.

This is still an early look at the system, but we wanted to share the direction we're heading. In the future, damaged vehicles will require proper attention before they can return to duty.

Even from the driver's seat, the effects of a collision won't go unnoticed. After all, police work in Winston Springs doesn't always go exactly as planned.

And if vehicles can be damaged, there's one obvious question left - how do you fix them? We'll talk more about that in one of our upcoming devlogs.
