Hey everyone, it's been a while!

We're back from limbo with the beta preview of the 1.0 release. We made some great improvements which we believe you will appreciate. The next table will be announced after the full release, so we're confident to get this back on track.

And if you're on the move - now you can get Pinball Wicked: Black Flaggers for iPhone and iPad - looking and feeling amazingly fresh.

Changes in the upcoming 1.0 release:

  • New music, original music will be selectable only if you bought the game in Early Access

  • Enhanced Low-End RendererSignificant visual improvements for the low-end renderer, driven by the brand-new iPhone/iPad version
  • updated to Unreal Engine 5

  • TSR temporal super resolution to easily reach higher resolutions 2K/4K or higher framerates

  • better antialiasing (TAA & TSR)

  • better performance

  • cabinet - multi screen support always available and yes, offline too

  • removed anti-cheat window title check

Preview is now available under Betas/experimental.

Here you can find the next version we're currently working on. This includes new features which are not yet thoroughly tested and therefore can contain bugs.

If you don't want to loose your previous settings or local scores it's best to make a backup of the %LOCALAPPDATA%\PinballWicked folder before testing. Easiest way is to rename the folder to e.g. PinballWicked.bak

The experimental preview is accessible under Library/Pinball Wicked/[RMB] Properties/Betas in the steam client.

Currently on expiremental - 1.0 Release Candidate

  • improved supporter pack glow ball materials for low and medium Material Quality Levels (dependent on Effect Quality setting) to better match the high quality variants

  • improved manual / instruction card

  • the legacy music selection for Early Access players will be available sometime next week

  • game launches now with DirectX 12 per default. The command line option -dx11 allows to explicitly start with DirectX 11

  • fixedBonus count in dmd now properly displays if the maximum bonus score is reached. Max bonus score increased to 999,999
  • fixed: fullscreen resolution picker is now visible again

  • fixed: spinner coastal reef loop's lights trail the ball again

  • fixedsavegame filename is changed so it does not collide with the UE4 version
  • fixed: overall quality graphics presets for medium and high, as well as default settings on first start

  • fixedwhen changing RenderQuality to Performance now AntiAliasing is properly set to TAA and TSR settings are blocked as these are not available with this renderer
  • fixed: mode specific pure/action overrides in the Operator menu are now saved, and Wickedly Random option works properly now

  • and more fixes and improvements

If the default settings are too demanding you can activate the Performance+ overall quality with the command line:

-OverallQuality=2

Overall Quality Levels

  1. Performance+ - for IGPU

  2. Performance

  3. Medium - better IGPU and budget GPU

  4. High

  5. Wicked - mid range GPU

  6. Ultra Wicked

Known issues in the preview:

  • switching back from the first experimental to the live version will crash on launch due to incompatible savegame format in %LOCALAPPDATA%\PinballWicked\Saved\SaveGames unless the beta BlackFlaggers.sav file is deleted before starting the game. Sorry for this! The current version has this issue fixed.

Stay tuned! Have Fun! Flip out!

TL;DR -> Full Release soon, next table announcement thereafter. Play on iPhone now too.
