Repeated intro
Greetings! We are starting to publish regular reports on the work done and changes made to the game, and this is the first such report.
What changed
- Gameplay
- Maps
First of all, we want to thank everyone who is interested in Patchworld. You inspire and motivate us to work harder and better.
We were pleasantly surprised by the interest from foreign players, so we decided to expand the list of game localizations. We will introduce this list in one of the upcoming development reports.
Recently, we have finished revising the hero's dynamics and implemented our own animation management system. It took a lot of time, but we achieved the desired responsiveness of the character and significantly improved the overall impression of fighting monsters.
In addition, we have introduced the mechanics of shards rarity and set spells. Players can find set shards and create a stronger spell with them, which will have additional attributes. Alternatively, players may find very rare unique shards that include special combinations and components. So far, we have implemented only a simplified version of these mechanics and will complete them in the near future.
And, of course, we've added a few new spell components:
Coordinate - allows you to deliver the effects of your spell to a specific point, bypassing all obstacles and terrain features. However, this component has a delay before activation and limitations on the range of application.
Pulsation - triggers several times at regular intervals and can additionally generate child projectiles or explosions.
Target capture - a projectile modifier. A projectile with this modifier can gradually change its direction of movement and will constantly try to hit the captured target, even if the target is moving.
Blink - takes the caster to the triggered point. Yes, there are mobility spells in the game! However, such a component should be used with caution: no one wants to be moved to random points 10 times per second.
Our small team continues to actively develop the game, and we will publish more news when important features are implemented. Feel free to ask questions and leave your feedback and suggestions here or on our social media - it helps us to adjust the direction of the game's development and make it better.
