Parse-O-Rhythm changes
Good evening.. morning.. what is time anymore??
Construction
This week, there's nothing brand new that's complete.. but a bunch of stuff is partially mostly there! The editor, yet again, continues to take shape, and it's been looking pretty good, I think!
The editor is going to have the background that you upload yourself (or pick from presets) here. This performs a couple of functions; for one, it makes the editor much more visually interesting and immersive, but more importantly it also gives you a reference for how the background will look in-game. A lot of these assets look kind of dull in Aseprite, but that actually is necessary in order to create the low-contrast colors you see in the background. Or you could try more vibrant colors! Whatever you choose to do, this system will give you an instant preview of what your background will look like.
In addition, a menu for the editor is in the works! This will consist of a couple standard options buttons (button positions not final at all!!!) and on the other side, customization, saving and other options for the editor. Truthfully, I don't know if this is going to be enough space for everything, that's going to fit here, but it should???? be fine, lol.
Up next..
Last week I mentioned adding more UI for BPM, offset, title etc adjustments. I was going to do that this week, but became more enamored with the idea of bringing the ingame background into the editor. I think it was worth it, but now I'll actually be getting those config options done lol. Thanks for following the devlogs! :)
