Update v1.4.1.4 is now live! This patch brings five new items, a major rework to the melee combat system, a completely redesigned audio system, improvements to the tutorial experience, and several bug fixes. Here's the full breakdown.

New Items

  • Murder Mystery Knife — A slow, single-hit knife made exclusively for the Murder Mystery gamemode. It's a deliberate, high-stakes weapon — you get one shot, so make it count.

  • Invisible Button — Makes the player invisible for 3 seconds.

  • Health Syringe — Restores health to the player. Single use.

  • Shrinker — Shrinks or enlarges the player. Works together with the size-based systems introduced in this update.

  • Radar — Detects enemies within a 10-metre radius. The device has 4 indicator lights that blink faster as targets get closer, telling you how many enemies are nearby and how close they are — without revealing exactly where.

Melee Combat Rework

Most melee weapons now have a secondary attack. Left-click delivers fast but lighter hits, while right-click performs a slower but more powerful strike. This gives melee combat more depth and decision-making.

The Secret Hunter role has also been updated to reflect this change — the Hunter no longer one-shots by default. Instead:

  • Left-click: fast, lower damage

  • Right-click: slow, single powerful hit

Additionally, each military class now has its own dedicated item:

  • Soldier — Invisible Button: go invisible for 3 seconds to reposition or escape.

  • Scout — Radar: detect how close the invisible Hunter is.

  • Heavy — Health Syringe: restore your own health when things get tough.

Audio System Overhaul

The character audio system has been rebuilt from scratch. The old system had grown too complex to maintain, so we replaced it with a cleaner, more flexible architecture. Key changes:

  • Voice chat pitch now scales with player size — smaller characters sound higher, larger ones sound deeper.

  • Sound distances for items and emotes also scale with size, so audio feels consistent regardless of how big or small your character is.

Tutorial & UI Updates

Tutorial Panels — Tutorial panels previously showed only text when entering a gamemode. They've now been updated to include video clips on each page, giving players a much clearer picture of how each mode works.Steam post image

Gamemode UI — Short instructional texts have been added directly to the gamemode screen, explaining things like how to pick up items and how to start the mode — helpful for players jumping in for the first time.

Other Changes

  • Vital Post Processing — The vignette and screen effects shown when your health is low have been updated. The new version is cleaner and less visually fatiguing.

  • Movement Size Update — Player size now properly affects animations, camera position, fall damage, sound distances, voice chat, item knockback, and network reconciliation. Several related bugs have also been fixed.

  • Interaction System — Refactored and optimized. Interactions are now more responsive and a number of related bugs have been resolved.

  • Big Mansion — Dark areas of the map have been lit up, and prop collisions have been reworked for more consistent bullet penetration. Tight spots have also been adjusted to allow Shrinker users to navigate through them.

  • Localization — Several mistranslations corrected and localization loading optimized.

  • Packages — Unity packages and internal systems updated to their latest versions.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed weapon shoot sounds not attenuating correctly over distance.

  • Fixed ground snap distance and crouch wall-edge clipping causing unexpected movement.

  • Fixed animation freezing when a character spawned exactly at ground level zero.

  • Fixed DLC images failing to load due to server rejection errors. A fallback has been added to prevent this from happening again.
