With this, we are incorporating the various sub-menus into the surrounding 3D world. The maps also changes based on your faction. So expect to see more improvements to this Main Menu map in the future. We have also sadly removed the pumpkins.

New Main Menu Map

We have refreshed the look of the main menu to resemble a military base and to give the game a better look/feel. With this, we are incorporating the various sub-menus into the surrounding 3D world. Units Menu Redesign

Starting with the Units menu, we have removed the Unit Images as they were not as good as just seeing the unit itself. So now you will always see your loadout of Units in the Main Menu map.

Map Changes

Reworked Forest maps 1-5. We realized these maps were old and overall, mostly just long paths without any actual tower defense aspects in them, so we fixed them and revamped them to our new standard we are push with all the new maps.

Crash Recovery

  • Once a unexpected closing of the game happens, such as a crash, power outage, or even pressing ALT-F4 on your computer an autosave is created

  • Then you are prompted to recover your game if you’d like to proceed on with your last level, if so, it will load your old save up. Otherwise, that save will be permanently deleted.

  • The game only takes autosaves at the start of each wave, so anything in between two waves will be lost, although most of the waves are fast so a maximum of 3 minutes of progress would be lost (in 1x speed).

Guide

The guide has been updated to help players with information from the Squad update. It also now shows the icons and color coding we use for various things in the game.

Performance Changes:

  • Removed shadows on certain foliage in Desert 5, to lower GPU usage.

  • Fully optimized the enemy units, now the further away the enemies are the game will account for that and start to unrender guns and start to delay the tick time on animations. Essentially the enemy will do much less visually to save on performance when out of the camera’s view, but still maintain full effects when up close, therefore not compromising any visuals but getting significantly better performance.

  • Temporarily disabled vehicles matching the angle of terrain. This was setup in a poor manner and is significantly destroying performance once more than on vehicle exists on the map, to fix this immediately we disabled this feature and will readd it in the following updates properly.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Desert 5 failing auto squad creation, this map had an invisible hitbox for the trenches which was causing this issue.

  • Fixed Towers being unable to path find on Winter 3

  • Fixed Towers being able to be placed on roads/paths that didn’t have a clearly marked road.

  • Fixed collision of the bunker on forest 1, no longer allowing to place floating units on it.

  • Fixed enemy units spawning facing the wrong way on certain maps.

  • Fixed the squad hover statistics displaying the wrong number, it showed the percentage instead of the computed percentage.

  • Fixed squad leader overapplying an additional buff, therefore over buffing the unit.

  • Fixed Tower pathfinding, no longer will your units take the longest path possible around the map, they will now attempt to find the best possible path, while preventing them from crossing a path if possible but without compromising the distance walked.

  • Fixed an issue with certain squad buffs not applying to the unit, this occurred with burn tick and explosive radius.

  • Aligned all paths, on every map to landscape. Will slightly buff every map
