addedHi guys, besides the standard character customization and new pieces of fancy pirate coats to unlock in the main menu, the archipelago provides players with diverse weapons, upgrades, medkits and 3 levels of armor to find. In this post we will showcase the main firearms.
addedProjectile Ballistics All of the weapons in Treasure Royale, including stationary cannons, use Projectile Ballistics system over the outdated Hitscan. That means we create a new bullet in the environment every time a pirate pulls a trigger. These bullets have their own mass, velocity, hitboxes and are subject to the overall in-game physics. In other words, players will need to take into account several traits of a weapon and distance to a target before taking a shot.
changedWeapon Characteristics We've also already implemented a fully adjustable weapon behavior for every gun in the game. What it means it that you may expect various kinds of sway moves when aiming, recoils when firing or reloading times. All the weapon attachments will have an impact on them so that it's necessary to keep searching even when you found a golden chest with best gear.
addedGameplay vs Reality As you may have noticed by now, spyglasses mounted on revolver rifles are not the most typical weapons of the previous centuries. That's what we wanted to experiment with when trying to meet a good gameplay with historical accuracy halfway. If that works out well for the majority of players, we will be eager to add additional equipment such as smoke bombs, multi-bullet magazines or incendiary ammunition.
changedThanks for reaching the end of this post and don't forget to check out the next one in the upcoming week - we will share our different approach to a typical Battle Royale gameplay and let you know how to win a round even after being eliminated!:)
