Our Biggest Playtest Yet Has Concluded!

Our third playtest was a big success! I personally had so much fun playing with everyone & getting into some pretty intense fights.

Over 80,000 players total were invited, with 40,000 playing for a combined total of 85,000 hours during the week.

We’ve enjoyed seeing people explore the world of ORMOD and appreciate your feedback. These playtests are a **HUGE** help in improving the full game & making it as polished & issue-free as possible.

To note: (despite our best efforts to let as many people in), there are still well over 100,000 people waiting for the playtest. It is completely random who gets picked, more access will come!

Development Plans!

We will continue to read **ALL** feedback and continue improving ORMOD to make it the survival experience you’ve been craving. The main issues from this playtest that will be addressed first include:

  • A total overhaul of mechanoid AI, including raids, better pathfinding & new enemies

  • More major inventory & UI upgrades, the main focus will continue to be to make playing as smooth as possible

  • Targeted balancing changes as a response to feedback to help with progression & keeping player interaction friendly

  • Focus on bug-fixing, fixing the main issues some had with items disappearing, getting stuck etc. These will be fixed!

Next Playtest

The next playtest should take place in around 4-6 weeks. This gives me some time to implement the above updates & polish, as well as server improvements to handle an increased player count. I appreciate your patience!

The exact date of the next playtest will be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime… keep an eye out for the opportunity to vote on what should be included in the next playtest!

Feedback Always Welcome!

Aside from giving you a taste of what ORMOD has to offer, the primary goal of these playtests is to gather player feedback.

If you haven't already, please provide as much feedback as you can on Discord in the #bug-reports & #feedback channels. We also have an official feedback form if anyone wants to share general feedback on how everything went! We read absolutely *EVERYTHING*!

Thank you to all of you for playing so far. See you very soon!
