Game Balance, Unit Skills, Visual Upgrade, Gamepad and more...

Hi everyone, it's been a while and we're still taking feedback from playtesters (The playtest is still opening for testing and we're inviting people slowly).

What changed

0 fixes2 additions6 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
  • Balance
addedBecause of each game update the gameplay is changing very quick for just a tiny configuration, it takes us so much time and resource for testing. And a good news is we finally reached the point where unlocking new units with the combination of upgrades are just right. Either you get stronger units or better upgrade in order to win the next level!
changedVisual Upgrade: We remember the last 2 or 3 updates ago we already done this, but we just didn't feel enough. Please look at the before/after pictures at the end of this post because it's just too big! And let us know what you think!
changedGamepad Support : We enjoy playing game from the couch (if we had one couch), this feature cost a lot of time to implement and to figure out which is the best way to implement it. But the feeling to control everything via a gamepad makes us happy as it's becoming a real game, and one day maybe we can get the game to consoles?! Dynasty Skill Rework: Dynasty skill were just a boring, temporary solution. Now it's time to upgrade! Dynasty now collects your gold and fire a sun beam to burn enemies!
changedGroup Movement stop group when right most units touch the castle
addedToggle Formation : A new toggle to either tell your units to stay in formation (follow unit control under the bridge) or let loose and charge against enemy castle!
changedGame Balance : Game progress feels just right through out the levels (at least some testers said so). We also notice the demo version for streamer might be a bit long, so we cut it at the Crusader's dragon level. That should be long enough to play without being tired from the long run.

Hi everyone, it's been a while and we're still taking feedback from playtesters (The playtest is still opening for testing and we're inviting people slowly).

Because of each game update the gameplay is changing very quick for just a tiny configuration, it takes us so much time and resource for testing. And a good news is we finally reached the point where unlocking new units with the combination of upgrades are just right. Here are the features we're going to push soon:

Visual Upgrade: We remember the last 2 or 3 updates ago we already done this, but we just didn't feel enough. Please look at the before/after pictures at the end of this post because it's just too big! And let us know what you think!

Gamepad Support

We enjoy playing game from the couch (if we had one couch), this feature cost a lot of time to implement and to figure out which is the best way to implement it. But the feeling to control everything via a gamepad makes us happy as it's becoming a real game, and one day maybe we can get the game to consoles?!

Dynasty Skill Rework

Dynasty skill were just a boring, temporary solution. Now it's time to upgrade! Dynasty now collects your gold and fire a sun beam to burn enemies!

Unit Skills! Now almost every unit has their own skill, and you can read unit description to get what they do and a little personality of them!

Enemy casts skill! At some levels enemy can cast their own skill to fight us, so player needs to come up with right strategy to defense their castle while also prepare to attack.

Attack Range Visual Indicator now shows attack range when you move units, small but useful

Group Movement stop group when right most units touch the castle

Toggle Formation: A new toggle to either tell your units to stay in formation (follow unit control under the bridge) or let loose and charge against enemy castle!

Game Balance: Game progress feels just right through out the levels (at least some testers said so). We also notice the demo version for streamer might be a bit long, so we cut it at the Crusader's dragon level. That should be long enough to play without being tired from the long run.

And so much more improvements we hope to finish before Steam Fest, see you there!
