Once Upon The Universe changes
This update might break previous saves. There is a branch "previous" available for any potential rollbacks.
Improved planet building flow. Empty building slots can now be inspired or demanded while another building is upgrading, and successful requests are queued automatically.
The universe first proto-star require Creator action
Improved the civilization technology tree: mutually exclusive technologies are now clearly marked as excluded after an alternative technology has been completed.
Added Creator-guided technology research queues. Inspiring a technology research now schedules the required prerequisite technologies and shows each queued technology position directly on the technology tile.
Research progress is now preserved when a civilization changes or redirects its active technology research allowing interrupted technologies to resume from their previous completion level.
Added atmospheric description to every active civilization technology
Added an autonomous civilization building cap. Civilizations can no longer naturally exceed 60% of a planet building capacity with a single building category, while Creator-inspired construction remains unrestricted.
Added planetary soft population limits, Overpopulation happiness penalties, Mass Urbanization technology, and the new upgradeable Mega Habitation Complex building.
Industrial Maintenance crises no longer remove planetary buildings by default. Affected buildings are now disabled and can recover once maintenance stabilizes.
Reworked civilization energy into a planet-based system. Planets now generate and balance local energy, orbital megastructures distribute power across owned worlds, fleets no longer consume energy, and Fusion Theory unlocks the new Planetary Power Complex building.
Planet energy shortages now reduce planetary Happiness and factory productivity proportionally, while autonomous civilizations avoid constructing non-energy buildings that would push a planet below 80% energy satisfaction.
Added detailed Energy Output and Energy Balance tooltips to the planet panel, including source breakdowns, energy shortage effects, Happiness penalties, and factory productivity impact.
Added Gas Giant Harvesting technology, changed gas giants to consistently provide Energy materials, and reworked Heavy Water Stations into orbital extraction stations.
Planet building upgrade levels are now capped by each planet’s building slot limit.
Leisure Complexes can now be upgraded to provide scaling base Happiness bonuses per level.
