addedThank you for all the feedback you've given us on the game, both positive and negative. We hear you. We are actively working on making the game better and live up to its potential. We have introduced some changes that will tackle some key areas of feedback:
changedThe issue: - The pacing of the game is too slow; there are too many events, rests, and shops compared to boss fights.
changedWhat we've done: - We now guarantee a boss fight in the first cycle you go through. - We've also reduced the amount of shops, rests, and events in early cycles.
changedThis should get you into the action a lot quicker and not waste your time on shops and rests that don't meaningfully impact your game early on. The issue: - Boss attacks are unclear, hard to read and messy
fixedWe've tweaked the visibility of various elements of different boss fights. We know there is more work to be done here; we will get to it after we have addressed more pressing issues.
addedWe've introduced a pop-up into the game that detects when you have that combination of graphics card and driver, telling you to downgrade your driver or launch the game in the D3D12 version. This should fix the issue. Note that launching the game with D3D12 will have an effect on the game's performance.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all the feedback you've given us on the game, both positive and negative. We hear you. We are actively working on making the game better and live up to its potential. We have introduced some changes that will tackle some key areas of feedback:

The issue: - The pacing of the game is too slow; there are too many events, rests, and shops compared to boss fights.

What we've done: - We now guarantee a boss fight in the first cycle you go through. - We've also reduced the amount of shops, rests, and events in early cycles.

This should get you into the action a lot quicker and not waste your time on shops and rests that don't meaningfully impact your game early on. The issue: - Boss attacks are unclear, hard to read and messy

What we've done:

  • We've tweaked the visibility of various elements of different boss fights. We know there is more work to be done here; we will get to it after we have addressed more pressing issues.

Graphics issues:

  • Unfortunately, there is a graphical issue on 50XX series NVIDIA cards with the latest NVIDIA Game Ready Driver (595.97), where textures go black, and the game becomes unplayable.

  • This is an engine-wide issue with the Godot game engine and this specific combination of graphics card and driver. We have contacted NVIDIA and Godot about this. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do from our end.

  • We've introduced a pop-up into the game that detects when you have that combination of graphics card and driver, telling you to downgrade your driver or launch the game in the D3D12 version. This should fix the issue. Note that launching the game with D3D12 will have an effect on the game's performance.

We are looking into making further changes to early run pacing and other quality of life changes. We hope these changes help you to enjoy Nullpoint Protocol. We are a small team dedicated to making this game the best it can be, we appreciate your patience. Here is the full list of changes:

Nullpoint Protocol v1.0.2

  • Made various adjustments to the pacing of runs:

    • Only planets with bosses will spawn on the very first cluster in a run.

      • Shops are now limited to 1 per planet, and can no longer appear as the very first encounter on a planet.

      • Planets earlier in the run now spawn with fewer encounters (2-3), and gradually increase (to 3-5) towards the end of the run.

  • Added an in-game warning for NVIDIA RTX 50XX series GPUs on 595 drivers running Vulkan.

  • Re-joining an online multiplayer game you had previously left will now have you spectating temporarily until there's a safer opportunity to re-join. This is a temporary measure until screens such as events, rests and challenge results can be properly synchronized to joining players.

  • Fixed some comets yielding nothing - they now offer up a random selection of abilities.

  • Re-balanced and adjusted the rarity of many abilities.

  • Save & Quit button in the pause screen has been re-labeled to Main Menu. The confirmation text when pressing it has also been changed to better reflect the autosaving behavior during a run.

  • Fixed being able to jump-cancel the cooldown animation mid-air.

  • Fixed status effect visuals on the player character appearing too small.

  • Fixed game not saving player data to disk between encounters.

  • Fixed being unable to pause during start-of-run screens (loot and stat allocation from selected game modifiers)

  • Fixed collision issues on some walk-up scenes.

  • Tweaked visibility of various elements in the Void Genesis boss fight, especially the darkness covering the arena.

  • Fixed misplaced targeting indicators in Void Genesis fight

  • Adjusted the readability of some attack indicators in the Clockwork Clepsydra fight.

  • Changed some events to have predictable outcomes rather than being chosen at random.

  • Fixed stat requirements in events being off by 1.

Ability Changes

  • Doom bolt cooldown increased from 1.5s to 2.5s (when using this it also puts the other bolt abilities on the same cooldown)

  • Arrow shot cooldown was 2.0s is now 1.5s to match the rest of them

  • Burn shot ability cooldown set to 1.5s to match the rest of the bolt abilities. Damage increased from a flat 4 damage to (10+2 x STR) the same as the basic bolt ability.

  • Overcharge changed to effect all abilities and not just the bolt ones. This ability was too niche for most people to pick it up, the effect still remains the same otherwise. Reduced the cooldown on this ability from 40s to 30s

  • Coordinated Maneuvers price in shop reduced to 200

  • Roulette rarity changed to common (was uncommon) Added stillness to the list of effects it can apply.

  • Counter skill duration extended to 5 seconds (was 2 seconds)

  • Relic hunt now drops 5 crystals instead of 3

  • Absorb Crush ability now properly heals based on the damage its dealing. Rarity Changed to legendary

  • Major adjustments to the rarities of all abilities. This should reveal more variety and build options throughout the run as many abilities have been changed to common rarity instead of uncommon.
