The Level Requirement system for items and weapons is now back in Not Quite Dead.

This change was made to improve progression and balance during gameplay. Players were able to obtain and use very powerful weapons too early, which reduced the survival feeling and overall progression experience.

Now, some weapons, gear, and equipment will require a certain level before they can be equipped.

What changed?

  • Item level requirements are back

  • Stronger weapons now require higher levels

  • Better progression balancing

  • Maximum player level is now 99

  • New in-game UI improvements

The goal is to make exploration, looting, quests, and combat feel more rewarding as you progress through the world.
