Production & Crafting Update (Coming Soon)
Greetings Nobles, We’re making major improvements to crafting and production to create a more reliable, predictable, and intuitive experience across your entire settlement.
Right now, some jobs (like Woodcutters) outperform others due to how often AI must move, gather, and process resources. This has led to uneven production—where basic resources are abundant, but advanced goods can bottleneck.
This update focuses on simplifying the entire system, reducing unnecessary steps, and making production easier to understand and manage.
Highlights
Crafting is faster, smoother, and far more reliable across all production chains
Major reduction in production bottlenecks (Smelter → Blacksmith → etc.)
Porters no longer interrupt crafting and now deliver resources more efficiently
Improved job balance—underperforming roles now produce consistently
Quest fixes, including Hardwin the Hermit, with improved progression and tracking
What’s Changing
Simplified Resource Flow
Crafters now pull resources directly from the Storehouse
Input storage at crafting stations has been removed to eliminate conflicts and confusion
More Efficient Crafting
Crafters gather larger batches of materials
Fuel is automatically handled by crafters
Fewer trips result in faster, more consistent production
Improved Porter Behavior
Porters no longer take resources from crafting stations mid-process
Increased carry capacity improves delivery efficiency
Finished goods are now collected from output storage only
Clearer Visual Feedback
Resource piles and crafting areas have been updated to better reflect stored materials
Example: Log pile now visibly include planks and firewood (renamed Woodcutter Storage)
Patch Summary (Coming Soon)
Crafting & Production Improvements
Crafting speed and overall production flow significantly improved across all buildings
Crafters now pull resources directly from the Storehouse, removing conflicts and interruptions
Input storage at crafting stations has been removed for a more reliable system
Crafters gather larger batches of materials and automatically handle fuel
Multi-step production chains (e.g. Smelter → Blacksmith) are now more consistent with fewer bottlenecks
Improved balance across all jobs, with underperforming roles now producing more reliably
Reduced unnecessary AI tasks, resulting in smoother and more efficient production
Porters & Resource Flow
Porters no longer take resources from active crafting stations
Porters now focus on delivering and retrieving finished goods from output storage
Increased carry capacity improves delivery speed and overall settlement efficiency
Resource flow is now more predictable, with fewer stalls and interruptions
AI & System Fixes
Improved crafting behavior so workers gather materials in larger batches instead of making constant trips
Fixed issues where workers would take or reserve the wrong resources
Improved reliability of production tasks and worker assignments
Crafting systems now more accurately check available resources across storage
Visual & UI Improvements
Updated resource pile visuals to better reflect stored materials
Improved clarity of crafting and storage interactions with updated icons and UI elements
Quest Fixes
Fixed Hardwin the Hermit quest appearing multiple times in the Ledger
Fixed issues with quest progression, tracking, and completion
Resolved cases where quests could fail, stall, or behave inconsistently
Improved overall reliability of quest updates in the Ledger
Additional Fixes
Fixed issues with incorrect crafting resource calculations
Fixed villagers taking materials intended for active crafting jobs
General improvements to production stability, consistency, and performance
