No Time For Pants changes
N.O.R.M.s
This update brings No Time For Pants to 1.1. This update improves some core aspects of the game as well as implements new mechanics that will be critical as the game evolves going forward. Thank you for the patience, feedback, and support over the past month.
🛠️ BUG FIXES
Fixed collision issues between the Scientist enemy and doors
Ankle Biters no longer float away in Sub Level 1
Squashed some Ankle Biter behavior bugs
Fixed a bug causing enemies to ignite twice
Moved spawns that were unintentionally appearing inside transition rooms
Improvements to how the Terminal UI updates when turning in items
Various stability and performance refinements across scenes and interactions
🎮 GAMEPLAY UPDATES
Peeking
Holding the interact input at side-room doors now lets you peek inside
You have the duration of the door transition to back out
You are vulnerable while peeking
Approaching hallway doors reveals the other side
Vents (currently only in the Birthing Bay) now have peek zones and hatches letting you look down into hallways
Penetration
Weapons can now shoot through doors
You can fire downward through ceilings while in vents
Hatches used for peeking in vents cannot be shot through, you have to open them
Each weapon has unique penetration stats:
Different max penetration distance
Different damage falloff
Different deflection angles
Battle rifles penetrate better than SMGs, etc.
Shotgun Overhaul
Shotguns now fire buckshot by default
New ammo-type attachment point for slugs
Slugs increase damage, penetration
Added several new full-auto shotgun variants
Door Rework
Added two-way doors with green lights on both sides
One-way doors show red on the locking side
Hallway transition doors converted to two-way (for now)
Encumbered (over carry weight)
Yellow icon
Cannot sprint or jump
Reduced stamina regen
Critically Encumbered (150%+ carry weight)
Red icon
Cannot sprint or jump
Very fast stamina drain
Severely reduced stamina regen
Refined jumping physics and animations- this further paves the way for more verticality to be implemented in the future. Think falling damage, jump stat mods, vertical areas etc.
Updated look of Terminal Room
Economy and item stat tweaks
Fire alarm system is now yellow to distinguish it from the exit and door signage
💎 UNIQUE LOOT SYSTEM
As mentioned in my Thanksgiving update, there is a new area added to the Birthing Bay that prompts you to enter a code. This loot chest can be used ONCE per life and most of the codes can be used ONCE PER SAVE GAME. For example code 'pixelpushinc' will give you "Bradley's Tool Belt". You will have to turn unique loot in to the terminal like any other piece of loot if you want to access it the rest of your run.
Unique items were added to the game for Splattercat Gaming, Tomato's Trash and the handful of people who showed up on the Discord to offer feedback and support. As more unique loot is added to the game, codes will be posted to Discord.
🖥️ UI UPDATES
Hover over health bar for enemies and environmental objects that can be destroyed. This includes enemies, glass floors etc.
Updated stats for Penetration info
Added stats for shotgun buckshot/slugs
Added an additional store menu tab for seasonal/special items
Icon support for one way/two way doors
Content
Thanksgiving Content
Admittedly, I wanted to this update out before Thanksgiving, but I fell a little behind. I spent too much time on some of the content, so I'm keeping it in for a little while.
Gear added: creator skins for Splattercat and Tomato, Thanksgiving gear set, a unique jockstrap :), shotgun ammo type attachment for shotgun slugs.
Weapons added: sawn-off shotgun, over under barrel shotgun, 2 regular full auto shotgun variants, 4
unique full-auto shotgun variants, 1 unique assault rifle, 1 unique SMG, 1 unique laser machine gun variant
⚠️ KNOWN ISSUES ⚠️
Hover-over information for weapons in the top of the UI is still bugged
There was a bug that reset implants reported last build. I don't know if this was a symptom of another issue that has already been resolved... I haven't heard anyone mention it in a while, but nor have I fixed it explicitly. If this happens to you, I'd like to hear about it.
In the event you turn in a new item or favorite an item and the store UI does not refresh, close the store and reopen it. Your item should be there and the favorited items should be sorted. Its a UI issue, not a save game issue. I am currently working to resolve this.
I thought I had squashed this bug entirely, but I just got a review today of someone saying they weren't getting scrap from the store. I don't know what version they were on, but I am assuming it was the most recent. If you do not receive scrap at the terminal, and want to help out, please close the game and zip this folder before restarting: C:\\Users\\ \\AppData\\LocalLow\\PixelPushInc\\NoTimeForPants. Please reach out to me via Discord or pixelpushinc@gmail.com. I would like to kill this bug once and for all if it is still alive.
