>>Briefing

It's been a while, agents of the U.R.C.. Three months have passed, and the spring for the northern hemisphere has arrived. In this season of growth and development, something else is also

growing...in

the shadow.

Cookie Crumbs—poor humans peeled off our world in Dimensional Fragments. As they descend through dimensions, humanity and consciousness fade and barbarity gain control. No luxury of being picky, nor there's something they truly don't need, survival is their only code in their harsh situation. They are scattered through Dimensional Fragments, collecting anything they can use. From the most peaceful [Origin-00] region, to those we don't know, the Cookie Crumbs are everywhere.

But raised more attention and truly alerted the U.R.C., is the Fallen Leaf. Composed mostly of defected former agents of U.R.C., they seem to pledge loyalty to someone who promised "freedom". We might have a similar goal—explore Dimensional Fragments and extract resources, but the now agents of the Fallen Leaf will attempt to disrupt U.R.C. operations with any means they can. Regardless of who they are now or now this conflict started, they are a threat and we have to stay alert.

Meanwhile, the R&D department had a break through as we further our understanding of Dimensional Corruption. The newly developed Decoherent Reactor will provide invaluable help for agents in the field.

At last, we welcome all agents to join the U.R.C. Regional Short-Range Communication Channel on Discord, link as followed:

Here's the details of this update:

>>New Features & QoL Improvements

  • Now when you pick up a stack of items, the item count will display on the top left instead of being covered by the cursor.

  • Now you can use shift + right click to quickly split stacked items

  • Slightly increase the range of detection for items on the ground.

  • Crafted items will inherit the corruption from it materials.

  • You can now press Space to confirm item purchase and crafting.

  • Ammo Roulette Menu: By holding the Reload key, you can call out the roulette menu to select which ammo from your bag to load for your gun.

  • Drastically reduced the weight of Stabilizing Powder, from 100 to 5.

  • Added visual and sound effect when a piece of rare loot is identified in containers.

  • Added markers for items required by current missions.

  • Now when you are near a passable door, there will be a marker underneath the door.

>>New Content

1. Human Enemies

Agents will now start to encounter human enemies during expeditions. Within them are two different factions: Cookie Crumbs and Fallen Leaf. The enemies will have different performance base on their faction.

2. Map Expansion

The size of the [Origin-00] region continues to grow; the east side of the region is now open to all agents. Two new landmarks will be added: the Train Station and the Factory.

This update also improved the environmental lighting effects in the game, to increase visibility while still maintain the nighttime vibe. Of course, this is still a work in progress, and we will keep improving the map.

We hope you will like these new contents.

Train Station

Once a busy train station, intel suggests it is now occupied by Cookie Crumbs.

"All aboard the train!"

Factory

Once there was a prospering factory here, before the town Lima turned to the tourism industry. There's a still functional furnace here, might be helpful in dealing with certain materials

3. Mission Expansion

We added some new missions related to the new enemies and landmarks, which will also unlock some much anticipated contents. A few missions are still in development and have no script yet, which will be implemented in future updates.

4. New Safe House Facilities

Medium Storage Box: Upgraded from the small storage box with larger storage capacity.

Large Storage Box: Upgraded from the medium storage box with even larger storage capacity.

Medium Bed: Improved bed for improved sleep quality, which we all need.

Decoherent Reactor: Agents can place equipment in this device, then play the attached accordion, it will dissolve corrupted equipment to Dimensional Residue, or consume Dimensional Residue to give random corruptions to non-corrupted equipment.

Toilet: The toilet is now fully functional, one push of the button and anything inside will be send to...we are still investigating where it leads to, but they won't return for sure.

  • NoteWith this update, the toilet in your safe house will have reduced internal space comparing to before, this will result in some of your stored items overflowing. But worry not, all overflown items will be automatically sent to the Transmitter once you enter the game.

5. New items

We added a lot of new items, 60 pieces of new equipment, and 12 new weapons, and some item blueprints. There are new additions to the Ammo Workbench and Cooking Station to be unlocked.

We also renewed some old items. The Stabilizing Powder is just glorified popping candy as we all know, but do you know what it actually taste like? Now you can quench your curiosity. The scrap iron and scrap copper, which was deleted, are now back in the game, this time with more means for the agents to process them.

6. New Corruptions

Now, Vest equipment can also be corrupted, with a new sets of corruptions specifically designed to improve survivability.

There's also new corruptions for the weapons as well, focused on the new damage type system.

>>Changes & Balancing

1. Weapon Changes

Quick Melee

The attack speed for quick melee is way too fast, but even agents of U.R.C. should have their limits. As such, we decided to reduce the attack speed for quick melee, this change will affect primary guns more than other equipment.

Also, for a certain new weapons in this update, we made some minor difference on how their quick melee function for very obvious reasons. They will have higher damage with a different damage type.

Quick Melee: Primary Guns

  • Attack Speed:2.5->1.5

All others:

  • Attack Speed:2.5->2

Melee Weapons

We found that the previous change to melee weapon animation did not reflect on their displayed statistics, all melee weapons now have proper displayed attack speed which is in line with their actual performance.

Rusty Pipe

One should be able to do more damage with a weapon than their bare fists... at least for most people.

Damage Profile:

  • Light Attack: 20 Impact->50 Impact

  • Heavy Attack: 80 Impact->170 Impact

Fishbone Sickle

Damage Profile:

  • Now with mixed damage types

  • Light Attack: 88 Slash->55 Slash + 33 Puncture

  • Heavy Attack: 230 Slash->200 Slash + 100 Puncture

Attack Speed: 0.8->1.0

Attack Range: 1.6->1.8

Beast Fang Club

Damage Profile:

  • Now with mixed damage types

  • Light Attack: 75 Impact->40 Impact + 35 Puncture

  • Heavy Attack: 190 Impact->110 Impact + 80 Puncture

Baseball Axe

Damage Profile:

  • Now with mixed damage types

  • Light Attack: 85 Impact->40 Impact + 45 Slash

  • Heavy Attack: 240 Impact->110 Impact + 130 Slash

Fireplace Poker

Damage Profile:

  • Now with mixed damage types

  • Light Attack: 115 Impact->95 Impact + 20 Puncture

  • Heavy Attack: 360 Impact->300 Impact + 60 Puncture

"Black Hand"

Damage Profile

  • Light Attack: 10 Impact + 45 Puncture + 40 Disintegration->10 Impact + 45 Puncture + 5 Slash + 40 Disintegration

  • Heavy Attack: 40 Impact + 180 Puncture + 180 Disintegration->40 Impact + 180 Puncture + 10 Slash + 180 Disintegration

Attack Speed: 1->1.5

Ranged Weapons

New Weapon Type: Machine Gun

Yes, we are adding machine guns to the game!

This update will introduce two new machine guns to the game, agents will be able to acquire them through certain new enemies. These two will be a must have for those prefer to spray and pray.

The machine guns are temporarily sorted as assault rifles in game, we will add their own weapon type and skill sets in a future update.

Ammunition

NEW: Upgraded Ammo

In this update, we are introducing upgraded and improved ammunition for all existing ammo types in the game. Agents will be able to acquire the blueprints through missions, and materials through exploring the new area. You will need them for the escalating threat.

For the shotgun fans, we also have a little surprise...

7.62mm Ammo

Slightly adjusted damage distribution to further differentiate from other medium caliber rifle ammunition; the overall performance will be similar to before.

Damage Profile:

  • 25 Impact + 95 Puncture->40 Impact + 80 Puncture

.22 Ammo

Although it performs quite well in reality, .22 does not meet the minimal fire power required for such dangerous expeditions in our settings. Thus, it has come to an end for the smallest bullets in the game.

  • .22 Ammo has been removed from all means of acquisition; weapons that previously can chamber .22 ammo will lose this feature.

NEW: .45 Ammo

To fill the void left behind by .22, we are introducing the .45 pistol cartridges into the game. Unlike most other ammunition, the .45 deals mainly Impact Damage, which will open up more strategies for agents.

  • .45 Ammo can now be acquired through various means.

However, we didn't have time to make brand new weapons specifically for the new ammo type, thus we added the capability to load .45 for some existing guns. There will be guns that specifically chamber this caliber in the future.

  • Some guns can now load .45 Ammo.

NEW: 5.45mm Ammo

The 5.45mm cartridge will be added to the game in this update as the third rifle-caliber ammo type. Featuring slightly lower but full Penetration Damage, it will be useful against human targets.

Two of the new guns will be able to chamber this caliber. And of course, those with polyshot corruptions.

2. Equipment Reworks

In the previous update, we introduced the new damage type system, but we didn't have the time to pan out the details for the equipment in game.

In this update, we will implement the detailed damage resistance system for the equipment in game.

More specifically, some equipment will lose part of their Defense stat, and in turn gain some specific resistance to certain damage types. Their performance will now differ when facing different types of damage, and will better fit their performance in common senses.

Example: Soft body armor will gain more resistance to Puncture Damage, but they won't do as good for Impact Damage; Hard body armor will perform equally well for both damage types.

We hope this will bring more build diversity to the existing gear roaster, different builds optimized for different encounters, and this will allow us to add more depth to the equipment system in the future.

Also, we raised the stat for several equipment accessible early in game to make the progression process smoother.

New Stats :Impact Absorb, Puncture Deflect, Slash Resist, Phase Shift

These four new stats will correspond to the damage reduction for Impact, Puncture, Slash, Disintegration. Defense will work the same way as before, reducing all incoming damage (aside from true damage) with the new damage resistance.

3. Enemy Balancing

The Fog Man

Slightly increase the threat posed by the Fog Man, agents should exercise caution when approaching the lab now. The Fog Man's attack now compose of mixed damage type, and it gained damage resistance.

  • Basic Attack: 65 Disintegration->30 Impact + 55 Disintegration

  • Adding Damage Resistance

  • Impact Absorb: 0->20

  • Puncture Deflect: 0->30

  • Slash Resist: 0->15

Arson Doctor

The dear Doctor, just like the Fog Man, was a bit too easy for a boss. We made some similar changes, now the Arson Doctor will have a larger health pool with increased damage resistance.

  • Health: 5000->6000

  • Adjusted Damage REsistance

  • Impact Absorb: 15->25

  • Puncture Deflect: 15->45

Scary Highlander

Mr. Highlander got a boost to his damage resistance in the previous update, but he is still a bit subpar in terms of the threat level to players for a late game boss. As such, we decided to raise the damage of the Highlander and make him deal mixed damage types.

  • Basic Attack: 55 Slash->55 Puncture + 70 Slash

  • Charge Attack: 50 Slash->30 Impact + 50 Puncture + 60 Slash

  • Chain Attack: 45 Slash->45 Puncture + 60 Slash

>>Localization
