Patch 08 is now available and it is a Major update to the game! This update completely reworks the tutorial and the introduces two new enemies.

Frendlier Tutorial

  • Rewrote all tutorial texts and added a new "highlight" behavior that points to parts of the UI to interact with. Overall the tutorial should feel more clear and more streamlined.

  • This means that are some short "on-rails" flows that are meant to guide you through the UI to discover the most important features.

  • Some more advanced mechanics or situational stuff is explained via Hints. These Hints can be dismissed on a per-hint basis.

  • The tutorial locks you into the first part of the Map until completion - just to be extra safe you don't wander off before completing it.

  • The tutorial now ends with a proper explanation of the Sonar and brings you to Motorhold, where most of the current questlines start.

  • Added a situational quest that triggers the first time you have a gravely wounded pilot.

  • Added a situational quest that triggers the first time you are down to 3 pilots.

  • Hints should appear also on existing games but the new tutorial, as you might imagine, requires a new savefile to be experienced.

New Enemies

Two new enemies join the fray! A feedback we got since the beginning of the Early Access is that we lacked some ranged enemies variety, especially in the mid to late game. We're addressing that.

  • We're adding a Sniper-type enemy called Stymphalian and a variant with a different arsenal.

  • We're adding a Tank/Hovercraft hybrid called the Pillager that has both ranged and melee variants.

Quality of Life Improvements

We're continuing our efforts to make the game more readable and address player feedback. In particular we looked into addressing all the confusion that stems from the "Mech and Crew not Ready" message and brought improvements to the Mech Building screen too.

  • Revamped mech building screen to offer more information on the validity of the current build and the status of the mech and crew.

  • Now the pre-battle screen offers warnings for wounded pilots, damaged mech and more.

  • Minor fixes and improvements here and there.

Other Improvements and Fixes

  • Added new parts for Male characters.

  • Switching from Mouse & Keyboard to Controller and vice-versa should be smoother now.

  • CosmeticMore optimizationsthis time on the CPU side.
  • Some fine tuning on enemies and Tracked status.

  • Minor bug fixes.

What’s next for NGO?

As mentioned in our Roadmap we're going to focus on introducing a third Mech and we will conclude the early access with the deployment of the main quest... and more!
