Crew, we have a major update coming and we need your help to test it!
The Info Jab update is now LIVE in the permanent beta branch of Steam.
This update completely introduces a new playable mech and some quality of life improvements.
A New Mech
While you were busy fighting the new enemies introduced in the previous update or maybe learning a trick or two with the new tutorial, we were busy adding a new surprise in game.
The Patriot is a new playable mech that can be unlocked following a brand new quest line in Resonant Prime.
It's a melee-focused mech with some limited ranged options that is all about getting up close and personal with some interesting options to isolate targets and rain punches on them.
It sports a unique combo mechanic that sets it apart from the Monki and Ocelot. A plethora of upgrades is also available for this new mech, so test it out and let us know what you think!
A new Quest Line
It's time to get properly introduced to the Resonant Accord - one of the many factions that inhabit the continent and the only one with a plan to defeat the machines! (or so they say).
The quest line begins after completing "The Road to Resonant Prime" from the Traders' Gyld and it will lead you to meet new interesting characters and ultimately unlock the Patriot.
Quality of Life
The update comes with further improvements to quality of life including, finally, parts comparison! We'll post a proper changelog when the patch officially launches but let us know how it feels.
How to access the Beta
You will find a Beta branch right here on Steam called "Permanent Beta".
You can access the Beta branch by right clicking on NITRO GEN OMEGA > Properties > Betas and choosing it from the drop-down menu.
The Beta comes with an important warning: BACK UP YOUR SAVEFILES.
Loading an existing save file might make it incompatible with the regular version of the game. Handle with care.
Your savefiles are located in %localappdata%\\Overdrive\\Saved\\SaveGames
Since the previous patch we also have an automatic backup feature. Your savefiles should be automatically backed up the first time you launch the beta but if you want to be extra safe: do your own backup! (we all press Ctrl+S at least 3-4 times all the time anyway).
What needs testing
We're particularly interested in:
Load your savefiles and let us know if everything is in order. Are your quests all in progress?
Are you noticing any changes in the battles? Any orders not working?
Are you enjoying the Patriot?
Is the quest line working? How is the balancing of the encounters?
Please let us know your thoughts here on the Steam forums or on Discord. We have a pretty nice community going on there so check it out! Join the Discord
More cool stuff to come soon. We've been sharing the latest on our development streams on Twitch.
Let's fight like gentlemen!
