Demo Updates
We've made some changes to the demo recently, here's a quick overview of what we added:
Mod Shop Redesigned
We fully redesigned the mod shop, and it now acts more like a tech tree with dependencies and intentional upgrade paths. Lots more mods are planned in the near future.
Card Info Screen Improved
The card info screen now lists and describes specific abilities of a selected card, and also includes a symbol key for any icons that appear in the card description.
Added Operating Manual
You can access the operating manual at any time, for a quick reference on basic game mechanics, your ship's systems, and icons that are used in the game. We'll be expanding this throughout development.
Weapon-Linked Cards
Weapons (and any other upgradable systems) now support "linked" cards. Any cards linked to a system are added to your deck when that system is equipped, and removed when it is unequipped. This should make it much easier to switch weapon types mid-run.
Improved Cockpit UI
We've improved UI hinting and feedback in the cockpit, so you have a better idea of what's going on with your ship moment-to-moment.
More Card and Items
There are more cards and items, and they're easier to unlock than they were before, allowing you to experience more of the full game in the demo.
Narrative and Story Nodes
We're building out some of the narrative elements underpinning the world of Night Machine, and you'll start to notice the first of our story nodes distributed randomly throughout the map. This is just the start, we plan to add much more soon.
Plus, the perennial cliche of a changelog note: bug fixes and performance improvements. We actually did fix a lot of stuff though.
That's all for now!
