Neverspring Chronicles changes
\ \ Bug Fixes\ \
The invisible monster in the Ashen Roost has been replaced with a new machine-type enemy. This fixes that bug while also further increasing the player's chances of finding a Thaumetic Battery to power the lower floors.
The Ashbury Arena fight is supposed to heal the party before each round but it was not healing the party for the first round. This has been fixed.
There was a bug at the Abandoned Farmhouse that if a player tried to hide in shadows just as they were about to get caught, they could be teleported to a location farther ahead in the game. This has been fixed.
The Scan feature from the Lore Book item was bugged out. The Scan mechanic has been rewritten and now works properly.
The Shoulder Canon (MK-I) device had a bug that caused Knockdown to persist until combat ended. This has been fixed.
Very rarely a NaN value gets returned for a character's HP value. A new script has been implemented to catch all damage and healing to check for any "Not a number" values before applying HP changes.
\ \ Content Update\ \
Slowly but surely, pixel by pixel, I have gotten the new battlers ready. I am pleased to report that the default asset battlers have finally been replaced with the custom artwork I've been steadily working on for the past few months. My next artistic endeavor (at some point) will be to bring the clashing map tilesets closer together towards a more uniform look.
Iconography has been updated in an effort to bring the game's overall look into a more uniform style.
Damage pop-ups now include the element or damage type of the hit.
Magitech Blasters and Magitech Rifles have been changed. The old way had players button-mashing to either cast one skill or max out the bar and cast a different skill. This was clunky and counter-intuitive. Blasters and Rifles now activate their different skills in a new way. A window will appear with keypad combos to any known Blaster/Rifle skills. Players will get up to 10 seconds to input a short key combo (like up, up, down, etc) to select which skill they want to continue with.
All damage over time and regeneration effects have been reworked. A new combat controller will handle these effects.
Several various updates to the UI for smoother look and better readability.
The tutorial images have been updated. Some new tutorial images have been added.
There is now an option in the party menu called "Info" that will allow players to revisit the tutorial information.
The Scan mechanic has been rewritten. Using the Lore Book or the Scan ability now reveals enemy weaknesses and shows a visual HP bar for the duration of the fight.
\ \ In Progress & Coming Soon\ \
Now that the new artwork is in place, I am getting together the up-to-date screenshots needed to redo the tutorial images.
Also getting together up-to-date screenshots for the Steam store page.
