The very first update for the Playtest is live! It brings updates to player movement responsiveness, stabilizes multiplayer loot synchronization, and introduces new biological mechanics for immersion.

Here is what has changed:

Movement & Camera Overhaul

We have adjusted the core movement mechanics to feel faster, more responsive, and fluid. Player movement is now faster with improved animation transition times, making control feel snappier and less weighty. Also, some adjustments were made to the camera behavior to complement the new movement speed.

Multiplayer & Stability

  • We have addressed critical desync issues with loot and lobby connections.

  • Fixed a major issue where Bandits would drop different loot for the Host and Clients.

  • Dead NPC inventories are now fully synced.

  • Interaction Locking: Implemented a check to block other players from interacting with a corpse while another player is already looting it.

  • Connection StabilityResolved all known issues regarding Lobby Room connections and "ghost" players appearing in sessions.

Gameplay

  • Bonfires and campfires that appear in random events now provide heat and light as well.

  • Increased the attack range of arrows. We’ve also optimised how arrows work in-game, so they don’t eat as much performance.

  • Fixed an issue where only the host could perform stealth kills in co-op.

  • Fixed an issue where the screen would freeze on Balder after completing a villager request.

  • Also, try holding "U" button when your hygiene level is not full - something interesting is bound to happen.

Other

  • Streamer Mode now correctly disables the music slider to prevent DMCA issues.

  • Fixed an issue where multiple players could sleep in the same house bed simultaneously.

  • Fixed a bug where "Unhappy Villager" notifications would trigger even when villagers were happy.

  • Temporarily disabled the 4x4 Garden Bed due to network restrictions and lags. We might remove it entirely, as it is rarely used.

  • Improved slider configurations in audio options.

  • Added missing languages: French, German and Spanish.

  • Fixed a bug where players would remain in the "swimming" state after exiting water in the Silent Forest.
