changedPrized Possession ReduxBarrel rolling was one of our early experiments with co-op mechanics near the start of development. As the game became more fast-paced, players became more agile, and enemies grew more numerous, barrel rolling felt less connected with the core gameplay. Mycopunk is about shooting things, not moving balls. AND SO, we’re replacing the barrel rolling section of Prized Possession.
addedPrized Possession ReduxBattery Barry is an old power cell model imbued with sentience, thanks to a Saxon executive’s attempts to “reinvent” the power cell market. The units underperformed expectations, the executive was stabbed by her assistant, and the Barry program was shut down. But there are a few still units kicking on New Atlas, and each Barry is worth a few billion Gats in parts alone, so Saxon wants any surviving Barry units rescued and returned to them.
changedPrized Possession ReduxYou’ll be collecting Battery Barry from the facility and bringing him back to the Drop Pod. One player carries Barry back to the Drop Pod where he helps to power it up. Prized Possession Redux
Barrel rolling was one of our early experiments with co-op mechanics near the start of development. As the game became more fast-paced, players became more agile, and enemies grew more numerous, barrel rolling felt less connected with the core gameplay. Mycopunk is about shooting things, not moving balls. AND SO, we’re replacing the barrel rolling section of Prized Possession.
We still like the structure of Prized Possession. It’s nice to have a shorter mission where you find a thing, steal it, and return to the Drop Pod. So what’s the barrel rolling getting replaced with? Battery Barry:
Battery Barry is an old power cell model imbued with sentience, thanks to a Saxon executive’s attempts to “reinvent” the power cell market. The units underperformed expectations, the executive was stabbed by her assistant, and the Barry program was shut down. But there are a few still units kicking on New Atlas, and each Barry is worth a few billion Gats in parts alone, so Saxon wants any surviving Barry units rescued and returned to them.
You’ll be collecting Battery Barry from the facility and bringing him back to the Drop Pod. One player carries Barry back to the Drop Pod where he helps to power it up. While hosting him, Barry impedes your movement a bit but also supercharges you, increasing the fire rate of all your weapons.
Enemies
We’ve started texturing the redesigned enemies! Here’s the infected microwave. Do not put food in him.
