changedThanks to everyone for participating in Mr. President’s Early Access! We’ve spent the first few weeks of March filling out the actions the President’s Peer Rivals can take during their gameplay segments, as well as streamlining the game’s setup experience and addressing some save game performance issues in the late game.
addedPlease continue to report any bugs you find in either our Steam Forums or on the Discord. We’re actively monitoring those channels and really appreciate your help! Now let's dive into the new features with 0.5.0:
addedNew FeaturesAdded more actions for Peer Rivals (Russia and China), especially those related to gameplay systems that have recently come online, such as the Wars subsystem.
fixedMajor Bug Fixes[Gameplay] Fixed an issue where the save game was taking an unreasonably long time to write after the game progressed past the first few years in office.
changedUser Interface/User Experience Updates[UX] Streamlined the setup of the initial game so players don’t need to roll individually for every element they don’t choose, like the public’s Legislative Priorities, Congressional Friends and Enemies, and your Vice President and Campaign Promise. This speeds up the game start, getting you into the action significantly faster.
addedUser Interface/User Experience Updates[UX] Added an ‘Express Setup’ option at the start of the game where the game will also choose Cabinet Members and Administrative Priorities automatically, if you want an even faster setup and are willing to accept the game’s choices for these elements.

New Features

  • Added more actions for Peer Rivals (Russia and China), especially those related to gameplay systems that have recently come online, such as the Wars subsystem.

Major Bug Fixes

  • [Gameplay] Fixed an issue where the save game was taking an unreasonably long time to write after the game progressed past the first few years in office.

User Interface/User Experience Updates

  • [UX] Streamlined the setup of the initial game so players don’t need to roll individually for every element they don’t choose, like the public’s Legislative Priorities, Congressional Friends and Enemies, and your Vice President and Campaign Promise. This speeds up the game start, getting you into the action significantly faster.

Upcoming Features/Changes

With the Peer Rivals now more fully empowered, Mr. President will need tools such as State of the Union and Sanctions to respond. The Peer Rivals aren’t quite done yet either; expect to see more actions from them once Missile Tracks and other systems become fully operational.

Thanks again to everyone that has participated in Mr. President’s Early Access, if you’re enjoying the game and have not done so yet, please leave us a review on Steam!

Bonus Content: Patch 0.4.0 - Intel Focuses while UN Takes Action

Since our previous Patch Notes got a little lost in the shuffle, we're reposting them here.

We’re starting off March with some new features and of course more bug fixes. We’ve also done some work to harden up the save files between versions, so now your saves from previous versions should have a better chance of loading with the latest version. If not, we’ve added an explanatory warning that something did not load correctly.

Also we want to welcome our new MacOS players who joined us right around President’s Day!. We’ve fixed a few issues with support for Intel based Macs since then, but this is the first patch with new features for those players.

Please continue to report any bugs you find in either our Steam Forums or on the Discord, we’re actively monitoring those channels and really appreciate your help! Now let's dive into the new features with 0.4.0!

You can now focus the U.S. intelligence community’s attention on a specific region (or two, if you’re ahead of Russia and China in two key Strategic Capabilities). The presence of the FNI marker confers many bonuses to actions relating to terror groups and wars. .

  • Added UN Actions segments to the Turn Sequence. Now there are more opportunities to effect positive change in various world regions.

  • Added an Auto-Save that occurs after every turn sequence segment to help prevent lost progress.

Major Bug Fixes

  • [Gameplay] UN Speech action is now correctly limited to one use per activation phase.

  • [Gameplay] Fixed a potential locked state in the Presidential Presence action where no option was selectable.

  • [Gameplay] Fixed a potential locked state during a “make peace” resolution to wars where no option was selectable.

  • [Gameplay] Fixed a potential locked state during “How the Sausage is Made” when rolling the best result due to selections not showing.

  • [Gameplay] Fixed a crash that could occur when using the Back button after a change to a Trending track where the track moved a full box.

Minor Bug Fixes

  • [Gameplay] Fixed issue where the World Economic Trend part of Allies/Rogues Group A would not add increasing trend to economies at value 7.

  • [Gameplay] Fixed incorrect logic for removing Russia Influence tokens during Compromise to Facilitate Removal of Sanctions.

  • [Gameplay] Fixed the ability to select the Joint Maneuvers and Training with an Ally action when there are no allies with Very Close relationship status.
