Fellow merchants!
First of all, thank you for your every review, bug report, and thoughtful message you’ve shared since Early Access launched. We are thrilled that you want to take an active part in Moonlighter 2’s development. And we couldn’t be happier to welcome you behind the counter!
As outlined in our roadmap, this Early Access will focus on fewer but more substantial updates, rather than a constant stream of smaller patches. We’ll still be quick with hotfixes and bug fixes whenever needed, but for major updates, we want them to feel meaningful.
In the meantime, we want to be more transparent about what we’re building between those updates. That’s why these Early Access Updates exist: to show our current progress! And we are planning to consequently publish one update per month, until the full release of the game, to keep you posted!
So, let us show you what awaits you in the “Content Update 1” shall we? 👇
What We Are Currently Working On:
More Shop Customization
We’re expanding how you can personalize your shop with two brand-new customizable spots:
- CosmeticDrawerswhether you prefer tidy stacks or mysterious compartments, you can now turn practical storage into a way to show off your vibe!
- CosmeticWindow displaysthey’re the very first thing customers notice when they step inside, and now you get full control over what they see. Set the right mood before anyone even reaches the counter!
Alongside that, we’re adding 10+ new cosmetic items to help you shape the shop you want, whether you’re going for pure aesthetics, better vibes, or something that reflects your playstyle more.
New Armor
A brand-new armor is forging its way into Tresna! This shiny new set grants you 1 Shield at the start of each dungeon run, giving you an early safety net.
But here’s the fun twist: when Shield breaks, your damage spikes by 20% for 2 seconds. Suddenly, getting hit is part of the plan! Time it right and turn a broken defense into a burst of pure offense.
Blo-Blitz
Many of you were surprised when we added a gun to Moonlighter 2… and we love surprises!
That’s why we’re introducing the Blo-Blitz, Will’s very own dual-gun weapon.
Yes, dual. One in each hand. With two guns firing in tandem, cadence truly skyrockets. The Blo-Blitz has its own flow, its own timing, and a combat identity all about constant pressure and non-stop rapid-fire to keep enemies on their toes.
It might do less damage per shot, but some good synergies are about to be unlocked in the “Content Update 1”.
New perk type: Hex
Introducing a new perk path: the Hex! At its core, Hex deals 20 damage and bounces to another active enemy. After 3 bounces, the Hex dissipates, so better build around it!
Some Hex effects also behave a little differently:
If Hex fails to bounce, its next hit becomes stronger
Certain effects cause Hex to detonate after 1.5 seconds, then jump into another enemy
Others let Hex stack, grow, or even explode multiple times
In short, Hex thrives in crowded fights and gets wild when enemies keep feeding it.
What’s Next
We know many of you are eager to return to Tresna, but for now, we unfortunately can’t share any specific dates for “Content Update 1” but it’s sooner than you think! As we said at the beginning, we’ll make sure to keep you all
