It’s currently in beta so I’ll update when it’s out!

Biggest updates:

  • Beds now require you to face down and interact with them to sleep.

  • Furniture now snaps to other furniture and walls.

  • Break ups now put you in relationship limbo for a while before you can rebuild the relationship.

  • You can now take photos of NPCs (if you’re friendly enough) and more animals.

  • Building events now have more rescue exits in case you need to leave mid event and I’ve reworked the triggering system to be more stable.

  • The map now has zoom and pan options.

  • You can override the current weather.

The first half of this year has been pretty difficult tbh, but I’ve been working to make things run smoother so I can implement more of the QoL features you’ve requested. I’ve crossed off quite a few things on the Roadmap now so I’ll do a refresh soon.

I’ve also been working behind the scenes on a little mobile companion app which makes it possible to access the wiki offline.   • Fishing - Fixed issue with lure recall failing in some situations, updated ocean shark description.

  • Sketches - Fixed potential crash when calling first find cutscene.

  • Gardening - Updated dig pot to give back correct items (pot but no plant).

  • Gardening - Harvesting non-plants will no longer trigger Gardening Basics Initiative stamp.

  • Gardening - Updated harvestable icons on rooftops.

  • Daily Tasks - Fixed issue with expired tasks sometimes being set to incorrect value.

  • Errands - Fixed difficulty reverting to easy when > 70 days.

  • Stocks - Fixed total investments held resetting early.

  • Animals - Animals no longer overlap beds (no more dust bunnies hiding in the beds)

  • Dehydrator/Rock tumbler - Can now add multiple items from stack.

  • Shops - Market Stalls - Added Nia to market stall rotation, adjusted shop categories accepted and multipliers.

  • FoP - Fixed soft lock during explanation dialogue.

  • Tea - Fixed difficulty defaulting to hard in some situations.

Collisions/Movement:

  • Updated edge check on collision areas.

  • Following/Tethering - Adjustments to reset flow to make movement smoother.

  • Adjusted collisions: pub, all player rooms, Birch Lobby kitchen, hair salon.

  • Items - Player no longer collides with items when dropping.

  • Items - Fixed getting stuck in walls and various collision issues.

  • Interaction detection - Fixed issue with down/right defaulting to up/right in some situations.

  • Hotel task - Added second day check to make sure it’s marked off.

UI/Apps:

  • Phone - Updated button logic to be better when going back and forth between phone and apps when moving between windows.

  • Map App - Added zoom and pan controls to map.

  • Help App - Added fix for rare crash when help item not found.

  • Player App - Updated so that if birth day is out of range of birth month, it’s capped.

  • Banking App - Added note about max transaction shown list and updated some tally counts when spending.

  • Sketches App - Fixed invisible sketch not closing in some situations.

  • Stocks UI - Fixed button memory.

  • Keyboard Input - When on PC, can now use numbers in names without triggering menus.

  • Scrolling - Updated speed to be more consistent across platforms.

  • Gifting UI - Updated to skip any bad values and display the rest of the list.

  • Photo Album app - Added a People tab.

  • Relationships App - Added photo icon to NPCs.

  • Relationships App - Adjusted colours for limbo option after break up.

  • Settings - Fixed defocus type not saving in some situations and moved to Display section.

Moving:

  • Furniture no longer stacks on top of beds during moving cutscene.

  • Added label for unpacking. This will now be removed when all boxes are unpacked. Note, you can’t sleep until either all boxes are unpacked or you leave the room and come back.

  • Rent - Fixed issue with Haruka not paying rent.

  • Schedules - Fixed Haruka not spawning in some situations (seriously Haruka, come on!).

  • Schedules - Fixed NPCs spawning in the river.

  • Schedules - Removed running schedules after an NPC is involved in an event (this is a WIP)

  • Animals - Added Karl to Aprils room, Ivy to Hannah’s room, Hemi second location to Elle’s room.

  • Council - Added Trash NPC to back right desk.

Break ups/Relationships:

  • Now when you break up with an NPC you enter a timed relationship limbo before you can work on your relationship again.

  • The way you break up affects the limbo time (in person: 5 days, by text : 7 days, sky writing: 12 days.

  • During limbo, you can’t earn petal points with the NPC, they will avoid you, not take your calls etc. You can still lose points during this time.

  • Once limbo is over, you will get a pop up and your relationship will be set to friends (maximum).

  • From here, you can do friendship petal events or reconnect romantically.

  • Old saves - Any NPCs marked as broken up with or divorced in current files will be given a 1 day limbo period.

  • Relationships - Adjusted petal counts and display info to be more descriptively correct.

  • Relationships App - If you are in limbo, the window for that NPC will be greyed out with some extra text.

Photography:

  • Added 8 new animals to take photos of.

  • Updated all animal portraits.

  • You can now take photos of NPCs if you have enough petal points with them.

  • 5 - Jake, Cecile, Dan.

  • 50 - Ryan, Sophie, Kirin.

  • 150 - Oliver, April, Harper, Hannah, Sage.

  • 200 - Ziggy, George, Max, Liv

  • Each NPC has an accept and refusal dialogue.

  • Photo Album app - Added a People tab, if you have met the person, their name will be labeled.

  • Lottie - Adjusted radius and ordering to prioritise Lottie’s photo in range.

Health:

  • Fixed mental health taking wrong max energy in some situations.

  • Fixed pass out logic being called multiple times.

Buffs/Rankings:

  • Fixed lv4/5 Geologist and Gig Economy sending wrong buffs (will update when you load in)

  • Updated math for stacking positive and negative buffs.

  • Fixed pants/shirt buffs returning wrong categories.

  • Adjusted lv4 watering can from 0.5>0.6

Decorating:

  • Capped speed while in “Placing” action to 0.75 of walking speed for better precision.

  • Added snapping to wall and other furniture (not active for wall art, tables or rugs).

  • Added red overlay when player collision is blocking furniture placement.

  • Beds - Reworked how beds work, you now need to interact with the bed to start the sleep dialogue.

  • Beds - Shadow no longer overlaps the player.

  • Wall art now works with any overlap of wall but can’t be different heights, note- adding wide wall art on small walls may cause collision issues underneath it. (I’m still working on this)

  • Rugs now work under any furniture.

  • Tables now only hold one item at a time.

  • Birch Tower Player apt - Updated windows to avoid overlapping in larger apartments, fixed wallpaper not displaying correctly in some areas.

  • Maple Place Lobby - Fixed front wall not displaying.

Mail:

  • Fixed event mail being blocked in some situations: petal_elle_5f, petal_jake_5f, petal_hannah_5f, PC_BE_5a

  • Mailbox UI - Added tabs for unread/gifts/all

  • Mailbox UI - Added sorting new-old/old-new and mark all as read options.

  • Fixed typos - moveinloan_pc, moveinloan_mp

  • Adjusted how mail is marked as sent to avoid double ups.

  • Fixed Ryan’s welcome mail being sent multiple times.

  • Fixed countdowns being overridden by mail and occassionally reenabling tasks.

  • Fixed mail sent count not updating in some situations.

Pets:

  • Added fallbacks for sprites not being found in UI.

  • Removed log that may have caused a crash.

  • Fixed last fed default values being created late in some situations.

Events - General

  • Reworked the system that controls event spawning to make sure events can’t spawn over the top of each other from different categories eg. shop vs building event (Cooking tutorial vs Birch Tower 3).

  • Added better clean up after events complete.

  • Added rescue to events with mini games so if an event is complete but the task aren’t running right or the player has exited during the game via their apartment/taxi things are reset.

  • Updated various cutscene scripts to be more stable.

  • Clothes - Fixed clothes not updating hair/arms in some situations during cutscenes.

  • Decor - Fixed potential crash when changing decor sprite during cutscenes.

  • Pathfinding - Adjusted force recalculations during cutscenes.

Event - Triggering

  • Building Events - Removed the minimum day requirement from event 3 onwards ( you still need to wait for the countdown between events though)

  • Building Events - Updated trigger requirements for linked tasks.

  • Mail - Events triggered by mail are now more strict about it, added check for old save files to ensure delivered mail and tasks are matched to the right Active/Inactive status to trigger properly.

  • Subtask events - Now require the parent event to be active.

  • Added better checks so item collection subtasks don’t untick themselves during other subtasks.

  • Shadows - General optimisations, moved to run via obj_depthsorter

  • Input - Fixed controller axis buttons registering incorrectly in some situations
