addedSorry it’s been a little while since our last update, we’ve been hard at work cookin’ up something good (I also moved and got the flu). In this latest update to Monster Mash, we completely revamped the city of Metroville! This includes a new layout of the city and all new buildings and props. Just about every building in the level got remodeled and got an updated texture, where the old buildings were a little flat colored and simply textured.
addedThe new layout provides some particular sections, like a fleshed out residential area, apartment complex area, and a more congested downtown/business zone:
changedWe also redid the stadium and Ultrachem headquarters to be multi-part models and be able to be fractured in sections. These stadium lights kinda look like a grabbable weapon too… So we made them one. You can pluck one of these bad boys out of the ground and swing it around like a standard melee weapon.
changedOn top of renovating the buildings and using a new layout, we also added two new props of trash cans and post boxes, as well as several more vehicles to chuck at structures. Just like the larger billboards at the far ends of town, you will now find smaller billboards scattered around the city with some new exciting advertisements. Aside from the increase in green space the city redesign granted us, getting rid of old models and whatnot should also lead to better performance with destruction going forward.
changedStay tuned for more, hopefully sooner than this last update took!

Speaking of going forward, now that Metroville is in a much more polished state, we’ve already begun development on the next 2 official levels that will be playable in the release version of Monster Mash. We’re a little behind where we originally planned to be at this time, but we are steadily chugging away.
Stay tuned for more, hopefully sooner than this last update took!
